Im sorry. But out off all those options, Gasol makes the least sense. Why is he our 1st option when there are younger, cheaper alternatives:confused:

there's only one healthy top 15 player on that list and it's Gasol. I'll take him.

trading for McGee who is a restricted free agent along with Cancer Blanche who's making $14 million until 2015 is a trade only an absolute moron would do.

You are clearly forgetting how much time Kaman has missed in the past.

I agree, but most seem fixated on his past accomplishments and dont believe he's gonna decline... paying a third of our cap to a 31, 32, and then 33 yr old is enough to make me pass...

Why do you keep using this excuse? He has 2 years left, and the Rockets won't be paying his full salary this year.

Thats easy. Just get Okafor and Kaman with that 1st round pick. Doesn't matter the protection on the pick. Any pick in the 1st would be perfect. This is a deep draft full of 2nd round gems.

    reply to Rick Smith....

I dont think he (Gasol) puts us over the hump to win a champioship and I think his cap# precludes us from getting the pieces we would need to do so...

Once you pay CLee in the offseason, he may be sufficient at sg to win it all, but he's gonna be 6-7M

KLow I think can be championship caliber... 6-7M

Parsons/Morris is/may be great coming off bench, but I sill think we need an upgrade... prob costing 7-8M...

Pau at 20-21M is prob good for another year or two...and championship caliber

Sam is a stop gap... would need at least a mid to upper tier center prob making 12-15M... (Bogut/Okafor/Jordan...)

that's 51M-58M.... cap this year was what 58M?.... and we havent even gone beyond our starting lineup....

maybe we get lucky and Parsons/Morris can provide starting quality play on a championship squad... @ 3-4M for the pair... we're still at 47M-55M and need backups at every other psition... and hopefully a good 6th man...

We're not LA... anyone that thinks Les is gonna spend like them (17.5M luxury tax owed this year) is crazy...

Close call between Pau and Okafur!

Pau puts us in a good situation for now, this having a possible high draft pick puts us in a good spot for later

Not if they could possibly get or switch picks. Also with the right trade, they could win with them. Remember, this is not Washington. We actually have leadership here. Well, more than Washington, at least.

I agree. We actually have the assets to make multiple trades. They could get Okafor, Kaman, Smith and possibly a pick. I don't understand how people are missing this one. Sigh....to the trade machine.

Okafor is cheaper than Nene and about the same level when healthy, and he is coming home to Houston.

It is a NO BRAINER to get him with a pick, the Rockets are not going to be able to get squat with cap room, look at how our cap room played out this season, we got fricken Dalembert a guy who makes ZERO difference for about $8 million.

Rox need to get back to guys they control, and build from that, getting a pick from New Orleans helps the league out by freeing up that team to be sold to a new group, and it helps the Rox out by getting a pick they would never be able to get anyway.

And it is for a player that is pretty danged good to boot.....Morey should be all over this like white on rice.

I voted Gasol because he's the better player. I also believe there would be another deal or two that would come after, making the Rockets a much better team.

Anything but Gasol for 3/5 of our starting lineup. My phone still changes Gasol to Fail which is exactly what that trade would be.
