You said twice, now thrice, they all are great at processing due to Bob and the same. Let me post their differences again for your reference. Mac's greatest strength as a passer was his incredible pocket movement, which allowed him to evade pressure like a seasoned veteran. Mac's biggest issue was he would lock onto a particular target (Devonta) rather than waiting for progressions. According to one of Tua's pre-draft scouting reports, he had a tendency to hold onto the ball for too long under pressure and was overconfident in pushing the ball down the field rather than taking a simple check-down option. While Tua's processing skills were top-notch, he consistently opted for throwing into tight windows or waiting for a receiver to get open, which was a concern. It's important to keep in mind that these aredifferent players, and their strengths andweaknesses are unique to them. Especially when it comes to processing with Young.
If he made Young win a Heisman year 1, why not year 2? why couldn’t he do anything with Hackenberg, Mallet, Brock, Savage?
Between 2018 and 2020 the offensive playbook became more uptempo if you actually watched their games. Something Locksley implemented.
Looked about the same as what Kiffin was running and with a slight variation what BOB was running. IMHO A little bit more uptempo, but still a lot of the same route combinations.
Because Williams had a great year. He got the best out of those guys, which wasn't much. It was said after the 1st day of training camp that everybody their could tel Os wasn't the guy. Mallet had talent but was a flake. Savage? LOL. Who else got anything out of these guys? I'm just glad that he trained up Young well. What really surprises me is some of the very people that hate BOB want a QB BOB trained up. If BOB's as bad as some think around here, then they should want no part of Young.
I didn't see this with Mac, he couldn't have had the season in college he had locking onto his 1st reads and certainly couldn't have had the best rookie year out of all of the QB's in his class in the NFL locking onto receivers. True about Tua, he tended to look for big plays and his confidence in his arm/accuracy got him in trouble sometimes. However and I dont have the stats to prove this, but Mac made as many big plays as any Alabama QB, Is Young really that much better at processing than Tua? In fact I would say they have very comparable skill sets. Good at processing avg to slightly above avg arms. Although Tua tended to look for big plays more than Young. Jones had more success team wise than either of them IMHO and you cant have that kind of success locking onto receivers. Love talking ball with you.
Mac Jones is a far superior QB to Bryce Young. No comparison really. Mac Jones recorded the highest ever QB rating and completion rate in NCAA history during the 2020 season. He also won a championship. Bryce Young isn't in the same conversation as Mac Jones. 3rd round grade on Bryce Young. And that may be generous actually.
Yeah, but according to some Mac locks in on one receiver. LOL BTW, This isn't meant for you, but there's no way in hadies Jones could have the highest QB rating and completion percentage records and consistently lock onto receivers. It's just a false narrative from the Young posters.
I will repost this for everyone's reference. Trader Jorge's prone to disseminating spurious allegations and exhibiting a conspicuous lack of consistency in his viewpoints. OR
He did. 207, a whole 4 points higher. I actually love Mac Jones as an individual still and think he'll be a yearly playoff QB with Super Bowl potential. @raining threes - He did target on 42% of his WR targets to Devonta which is pretty significant proportion of WR/TE targets. That was one of the pre-draft concerns - one player lock or check-down. But he's been much better as a pro!
Where did you get these numbers, I'm not saying they aren't correct. I certainly didn't see this in the games I watched.
I’m pretty sure it’s been said multiple times, but you only hear what you want to hear… no one is fawning over a BOB coached up player. if anything it’s more exciting how good he is IN SPITE of BOB. Kinda like we all said Watson was too.. but go ahead and twist it to whatever fits the narrative.
So let's see 1st it was Watson that played well and now it's Young that won a Heisman I spite of BOB. How many QB's have to have success before you will admit that BOB might have played a part in the QB's success.
