I really hope they put Johnson on the PS... seems he has shown enough (hits hole quickly and runs hard after initial contact) to show he will be a special talent should he get away from injuries.

Johnson is going to the PUP List, which won't count against our 52.

The Ward signing should play out as a low risk deal, if he underwhelms you have Johnson healthy and available in week 7.

However, with Slaton questionable, as well, it will be interesting to see if they make a play for another RB who gets cut, approaching it with the same mentality as Ward.

I know this might be blasphemy but I've heard a few rumors popping up around the twitterverse that the Cowgirls are looking to move Marion Barber. As much as I think he is done as an everydown back, he might be ideal for that short yardage power back we've been lacking since the Dayne Train. Saying all this, Peter King has shot the rumors down yet still might be worth a look if there is even a smidge of truth.

His rookie year not withstanding, Steve Slaton will be "questionable" for the rest of his career.

    JJ and Henry were cut.

And Foster is a very average starting back.

I'm sure the Texans were waiting to see who got cut before they made some moves, but we have NOTHING back there at the moment.

The scuttlebutt is that we are going to be making some big moves ....Well, get to it guys as we have no short yardage/redzone back and we need another everydown back we can count on should AF get hurt or not work out.

Frankly, going into a year where we are considered a contender, this should have been addressed when Tate went down.....

Mike Lombardi has been advocating that we trade Jacoby to Washington to bring in Fat Albert. He was even on the Bill Simmons podcast talking about the virtues of this move for the Texans if they can get Haynesworth on-board and motivated.

It's the kind of move a team makes when it's going "all-in." I can actually talk myself into considering it - suspending my belief that Haynesworth is more trouble than he's worth. But Jacoby is coming up for a new contract, and we just gave Andre and KW new ones, so maybe it's time to invest in another area of the team?

WR: Johnson, Walter, Anderson, Dickerson (also can use OD or Casey in the slot)

    DL: Smith/Barwin, Haynesworth, Okoye/Mitchell, Williams

Adam_Schefter More cuts: William Joseph, Raiders; Travis Fisher, Ravens; Donald Thomas, Dolphins; Tim Brown, Giants; Gartrell Johnson, Giants

I would look at Gartrell Johnson for another RB slot.

I think Okoye has grown up a lot from the kid we drafted ...He's going to show us the goods starting this year IMO.
Haynesworth's salary and attitude precede him.

That said, I'd bring him here in a heartbeat for Jacoby.
    .
It's already my belief that we're eventually going to be the monsters of the midway on defense .....Haynesworth accelerates and exponentially multiplies this.

    Okay I am confused now...

    http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/7185742.html

So, let me get this straight, he's cut and can look to sign somewhere else but if not then he MIGHT come back to the practice squad?

Not that bad of a move, we are loaded at WR so we can afford to lose some talent there to straighten the interior D-line. An area that still has to prove itself....but can we deal with Fat Al...it is too risky imo, but if the move was made i wouldn't be angry about it.

Why would a team waste a roster spot or spot on the practice squad on a fringe player who will be out at least a month? I like Johnson but the Texans need roster spots for healthy players.

Kind of surprised by that, Gartrell Johnson looked like he had some promise.

Forget it. While Jerry may want Felix Jones to start, the coaches still believe in Barber (yeah, right). He ain't going nowhere plus he's lugging around a big contract.

If $100 million can't motivate the FatMan, I certainly don't see how coming here will make any difference.

I always find it hilarious that fans always want to get rid of a player on their team that is over-payed, under-performs and lacks motivation, yet when that same player potentially becomes available from another team, they want to jump all over that guy and sign him. I'll never understand that.

You haven't been paying attention. Foster looks like the real deal.

I'd definitely feel more comfortable with Leinart.

Plus, now I feel like Leinart has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove himself.
