Never thought about that...but what if? I know the Texans are still fighting for the first playoff spot, but where would they be had they drafted Rogers instead of AJ? Yikes.
LOL, good point... But I do seem to remember - in the weeks leading up to the draft - John "I covered this, and I covered that, and I have a HOF vote" McClain saying that they had AJ higher on their board all along.
Thats true...but if the Lions took Andre...we'd probably still get Rogers. What a freaking disaster that would have been. Thats not dodging a bullet...thats dodging a rocket launcher.
Casserly is on record stating he wouldn't have drafted Rogers if AJ was taken before the Texans drafted.

How has Jacoby Jones looked? He was pretty impressive in the second half of the season last year. His big play ability could really free up Andre
Xavier Adibi has been injured. Not sure of the extent of the injury, but he'll be out a few weeks according to Kubiak. http://twitter.com/NickScurfield All of a sudden picking Sharpton in the draft and signing Clark is looking smart.
I was reading somewhere that Sharpton had really been impressing Kubiak and the coaches during camp, to the point he would be a strong candidate to be a starter in 2011.
sucks about xavier but it will be good to see how sharpton responds. I am optimistic about sharpton though. From accounts i've read, he seems to be a leader and student of the game. Just a sound player.
Ha that Cowboys fan! First time he walked by somebody through a pizza crust at him...only it hit me in the leg instead. Jacoby had one nice catch last night though...I think it was during their goal line drills.
One guy I am interested in seeing what type of progress he has made is Dan Orlovsky. He is lucky to have two very good QB coaches in Gary Kubiak and Greg Knapp. If you look at some of the backup QBs on potential Super Bowl contenders, it's not a impressive list. Colts have Curtis Painter, Packers have Matt Flynn, Saints have Chase Daniels, and Patriots have Brian Hoyer.
Yes but with our average - below average offensive line and the history of Matt Schaub, we need a decent backup. Orlovsky has looked pretty bad so far. He stares down one target and if that target is not open then he holds the ball way too long and ends up trying to rush it himself. He's definitely going to get a lot of snaps in preseason, and expect him to get sacked a lot too.
I wouldn't say the offensive line is below average or average. I would call them slightly above average. They had one of the best offenses in the league last year. I think the offensive line last year wasn't very good in the running game because they lost their two starting guards for the season and the guys replacing them were inexperienced. I think by bringing in Rick Dennison and better running backs they could be a top 10 rushing team.
Anybody attend today's practice? I read that Kareem Jackson laid the hell out of Eric Winston on a screen pass.
I guess so, but I'm not sold on them. Schaub got sacked a lot compared to the other "top-tier QBs" last year. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, he was only behind Aaron Rodgers (maybe behind someone else too, I can't remember, probably Hasselbeck or Cutler) in times sacked. But, yeah, I think that our offensive line has improved - or at the very least stabalized - to the point where we can be considered good or above average. I also think it was more on Slaton last year, rather than the O-Line. I think he hurt our running game more. Apparently last offseason he gained 20 lbs because Kubiak told him that he wouldn't use him on 3rd and Short situations. Apparently he has lost that weight over this offseason.
Actually Schaub got sacked only 25 times last year. 17 other regular starting quarterbacks got sacked more than he did with Big Ben and Rodgers being at the top with 50 a piece.
Excuse my bad stats then. I wonder why I thought that. Thanks for clearing that up though, that would have been embarrasing in a real conversation. So what's our starting 5 on the line going to look like next year exactly? I'm not too familiar if any changes have been made on the line.
