The Texans waived/injured WR Trey Stross to make room for Daniels on the 80-man roster. Edit: They also cut FS Aaron Webster.
Agreed but I'm really concerned with having a rookie and sophomore starting duo with rookies/sophomores (with very little PT) backing them up. Bennett had a great rookie year opposite of Dunta but struggled really bad after Dunta was out. I don't think he is worth $4M either but I personally think we need all the help we can get at CB since it is the one position with the most question marks IMO.
Your right Bennett was real good his rookie season but has been pretty terrible the last 2 seasons. It got so bad for him last year that he was a healthy inactive for 6 games last year. He is fighting for his career so let's see what type of camp he has. Quin and McCain got very valuable experience last year so let’s see what type of jump they make this year. Jackson is not your typical rookie cornerback because of the pro-style defense be played in college and he played under Nick Saben who coached defensive backs in the NFL. Molden is a really good special teams player and that could give him an edge going forward. Most NFL teams usually carry 5 cornerbacks so there should be some strong competition in camp. The position I think has the most question marks is defensive tackle. Between Okoye and Cody last year, you got very little production in terms of sacks. Kubiak has been raving about Earl Mitchell these OTAs and said he is going push them. I am also intrigued to see Malcolm Sheppard who is an undrafted free agent from Arkansas. He was All-SEC as a Junior and Senior. He had 8.5 sacks the last 2 seasons. Both Mitchell and Sheppard are three techniques who can rush the pass from the defensive tackle position. Let’s hope they help because between Okoye and Cody, there is very little pass rush.
Texans signed linebacker Darryl Sharpton, a fourth-round draft pick out of Miami. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-texansmoves
Texans are trying out veteran cornerback Frank Walker during this week's mini-camp. He is really nothing more than a 4th or 5th cornerback but he did start a playoff games this past season for the Ravens.

No big suprise. Adam Ulatoski is old for a rookie since he spent six years in college. Very limited upside and not quick at all.
Since Shehan was cut, I assume John David Booty will be on the roster. Hopefully he can outperform Orvolsky and be a servicable backup, something Dan is not
I got this off battleredblog Looks like he's already mid-season form! If he's still our kicker next season, then either he or Kubiak needs to be shot http://www.battleredblog.com/2010/6/16/1516955/a-different-take-the-kicking
Pretty interesting Texans O-line ranked 6th overall: 6. Houston Texans: Despite putting Baltimore and Miami in the top five (mostly because of personnel and not necessarily execution), I can’t harp on this enough: The most important objective in the NFL today is to keep the quarterback clean. Houston ranked eighth in the league last season despite the fact that the running game was mediocre and quarterback Matt Schaub’s(notes) mobility was limited because of an ankle injury. There’s not a household name in the bunch and offensive tackles Duane Brown(notes) and Eric Winston(notes) are both limited physically. Still, they don’t let people touch Schaub and the running game could really improve with better running back play. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AlGQfFzIWjY4WJ5Aqlzo6flDubYF?slug=jc-olinerankings061810 I didn't see it mentioned but Logan Mankins is demanding a trade. Great G but would he fit the ZBS?

Total Access will be talking about the Texans tonight. NFL Network is in the middle of the 32 teams in 32 days fan ranking and the Texans came in 15th. I'm sure the segment will be short and nothing of importance will be said, but at least we'll get some exposure since they never talk about the Texans on that show. I'll post a link to the video tonight just in case you don't get NFL Network.
My guess is that they say the same thing they did last year...that we are on the cusp of becoming a playoff team and that this is a make or break year for us.
I wouldn't be surprised if they run the exact same promo again and just splice in a mention about Ben Tate and Kareem Jackson
NFL Network: "Next up, we'll talk about the Texans... " ...5 minutes commercial break... "And there you have it, the breakdown of the AFC South. Tune in tomorrow as we discuss the Denver Broncos with Tim Tebow's left nut in our mouths."
