I went and re-read all of your posts on the matter, and I really can't figure out what this post is meant to say other than to be about the most prickish way of saying "I don't agree" one could possibly come up with. Which sadly is what I'm starting to come to expect from you regarding Texans talk. I was trying to be nice and have a reasonable discussion about it, but you're apparently a lost cause on that front. If that's not what you meant, then I'm all ears, but otherwise, right back at you, buddy.
i feel that we could have picked a safety, lineman, a second receiver, and still picked up a good TE in the process. i liked the first two picks, in that we picked in the positions of need. from the 3rd round on, not so sure. i hope they work out though.
I thought the consensus was RB/CB/DT in the first 3 rounds, but i guess FS could have been tossed in there if there was a highly rated one still around. Anyway, to me, the first 3 rounds made perfect sense. After that, The picks were a bit surprising, but there we/are depth picks.
I had OL over RB. Our OL run blocking is atrocious. It has gotten worse every year Kubiak has been here.
Looks like a one year anomaly; I want to believe in this athleticism vs. size thing Kubes has going but at this point it's is looking like the Denver plug and play style has not worked.
Between people being back from injury, an extra year (especially for Caldwell), and the signing of Wade, it easy to understand why they didnt go that route. Don't get me wrong, adding better linemen is needed but I don't know if it should have been a 2nd rounder. That's a high price to pay for the interior line
They had a healthy Pitts in 08, the best interior lineman in the history of the franchise. Last year they had 3 terrible interior lineman who should not be starting at the NFL level. I
That one year was also the only year that we had a legitimate back running the ball combined with a healthy line the whole season. Between Slaton, Tate, and Foster ... and hopefully Caldwell is ready, so you can plug him in with the best two out of Brisiel, Myers, Studdard, and Smith ... we've got to be top 20 minimum. Considering we were 30th last year and won 9 games, I would hope that would be good for another win or two. I know that's not how it works, but having a running game is so significant.
Goes to show the level of talent we've acquired for the OL over the years I understand how hard it is to justify a high pick for an O lineman though. The team has a lot of holes.
true, but the anomaly could be that they were healthy and had an explosive back. The prior years, texans had either poor RBs and/or young offensive linemen. Whatever the case, this is a very important year to prove that they can run the ball
I do think Kubiak was a little arrogant about the running game when he first got here. What I mean is that he was willing to go out there with the likes of Ron Dayne, Ahman Green, Darius Walker, Chris Brown, etc...I think our RB woes last season finally made him realize that he might actually have to invest something in our run game for it to work.
Adam_Schefter Now that he has signed a 1-year deal with Saints, truth can be told on Darren Sharper: he had microfracture knee surgery this off-season.
If you were a chargers fan. which one of these option would you rather have? Kyle Wilson with their 28th pick and Toby Gilhart with their 40th pick or just Ryan Matthews. I would of gone for the first option because you get two quality players instead of overpaying and reaching for a player that might not a superstar.
