[Official] Texans offseason thread

Yeah It would definitely not be good with Dennis Dixon at QB while just getting a top 10 pick in this draft for a guy who won you 2 superbowl. I know he didn't have a huge impact in the first one. With Charlie Batch at QB, Fast Willie Parker isn't running all over the Seahawks in that Super Bowl.

 

The Steelers won the Superbowls. If it wasn't for these guys Ben would be as successful as Phillip Rivers.

 

What kind of driven league is the NFL? A quarterback driven league. I'm sure those players did win the super bowl, but the majority of the credit and blame goes on the QB. Thats like saying Tom Brady didn't win the Pats any of those three super bowls. We should check out Tom's stat lines in those. If Ben lost both of those super bowls, who do you think all the criticism would be targeted at? Troy Polamalu? Hines Ward? James Harrison? I think not.

 

Well, Ben isn't as talented as Brady so It's apples and oranges.

It's like saying this guy is a great QB



The Steeler D and Ward had more to do with the Super Bowl wins than "Big" Ben.

LOL How is comparing two super bowl winning quarterbacks like comparing apples and oranges? Its not like Brady is a championship winning point guard for the Celtics. Thats apples and oranges, then there are still some comparisons.

 

Winning a super bowl is winning a super bowl. You can't blame Trent Dilfer for having a sick ass defense.

 

Because one QB is arguably the most Clutch QB this Decade and the other was a rookie driving one of the best defenses in the last 5 years.

Next thing you know If the Jets Get to the Super bowl Matt Sanchez will be the new Joe Namath (which is what Bspn wants you to believe)

 

Brady is way better than Roethlisberger but nobody will compare Mark Sanchez to Roethlisberger. I seriously doubt the Jets win a super bowl anyways. Brady is a drive king, Ben is a drive maker and clutch himself. Mark Sanchez is a driver killer. I'm not sure who this Matt Sanchez guy is.

 

I think he's that pretty boy. Goes to show how tuned out of the Mickey mouse network I am.

Its not a sign of disrespect and he seems pretty fine with it. Just funny how irrelevant Mark Sanchez is and how a constant follower of the NFL would even forget his name. Most if not all just a shot at Mark Sanchez. You don't have laugh for it to be funny

The Texans have signed two more free agents, including a veteran and a rookie.

Tight end Michael Gaines, 30, is a seven-year veteran who has played with Carolina, Buffalo, Detroit and Cleveland.

Safety Torri Williams (6-2, 208) is an undrafted rookie from Purdue.

Meanwhile, there's nothing new to report on the Texans' interest in free agent guard Alan Faneca. Coach Gary Kubiak said Sunday they were checking him out.

 

I'm glad they signed Michael Gaines, they definitely could use another tight end.....
