Watched NFL Network's Path to the Draft, They really focused on CB. McCourty from Rutgers has nice size, Wilson from Boise seemed to really blanket the receiver but looked smaller than the listed 5'10. I don't think Earl Thomas will be there but damn his foot speed is absolutely insane, faster than I remembered. Mayock then went on to talk about Gerhardt in the second round, anyone like him as a compliment to Slaton?
You can see the video here: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-draft/09000d5d81726672/Texans-on-the-clock Mayock said that if the Texans don't draft a Running Back in the 2nd round then Ben Tate would be a good pickup in the 3rd.
i'm leaning more and more towards a CB in the 1st and a RB in the second. I know it was limited time, but the Texans may feel like Foster carry the load...and i don't blame them because he sure did look good in his limited time. Then again, you can't discount a 1st round RB (assuming he's worthy). It will be interesting to see who's available
Not surprising. This team surely has the talent required. If only we would stop shooting ourselves in the foot in key situations.
I'm going to guess you know nothing about the health care profession. Slaton's surgery shouldn't be scaring anyone off.

Didn't really say anything about Mays. I actually thought they would have devoted a little more time to the Texans, guess I shouldn't be surprised
Huh? Whats that supposed to mean? You know he got a discectomy right? First off, it can take up to half a year to fully recover...secondly, there is a decent chance that the symptoms can reoccur down the line because another bone fragment or disc may give pressure to the spinal cord. Yeah, chances are that he'll be fine, but to state it the way you did shows that you're obviously not the one familiar about the health care profession.
i'm going to guess not many people like you I'm sorry if i take neck surgery serious. rez said it best...He will probably be fine, but I don't want to place a season on "probably". I think they have to move forward with the idea that they need a starting RB. The texans HAVE to improve their rungame to make the playoffs next year and putting all your eggs in one basket, who happens to be coming of a bad year, is risky. Sorry if that's too hard to understand. And i hope i'm not coming across as hating on slaton. This is just the situation at hand. And i know a fair amount of the medical field...worked in it for 4 years, dad's a surgeon (orthopedic), and 3 siblings are in the medical field, one of which is also a doctor.
They said ET might have the best closing speed out of any of the DBs in this draft and I have to agree. He's an absolute ballhawk that can cover so much of the field. He also played CB in nickel packages because of his coverage skills. Any one of those CBs plus Gerhart would be a very good first day, ET + Gerhart would make it great IMO.
McClain is really high on Connor Barwin. He has been gushing about him all day on Twitter, proclaiming him to be a future 10-sack player.
Barwin certainly showed some talent out there his rookie year. I love him in pass rushing but he has to improve his rub D to get more significant playing time. That said, i'd expect him to make some big plays
