They also had their own case of the Steve Slatons with Turner not doing so well, and then on the IR for the last half of the season. Of course his backup's no Chris Brown.

Now we resigned Walter, is there any chance we trade away Davis for an extra draft pick? Our WR squad is deep with Johnson, Jones, Walter, Anderson and younger players such as Martinez.

Would someone give us a 5th or 6th round pick for Davis? Just wondering ...

I doubt we deal our best return man.

Seeing what Smith and Kubiak have been able to do with their draft picks, I wonder what Atlanta would've said three years ago if we offered them Dunta for Schaub straight-up?

It's a travashamockery that we can still call AD our best return man. Last year, it seemed like all he did was run into the first wave of defenders on a kick-off and fall down. I miss contract year AD

I do agree with you, Donny, that he's a much safer option than Jacoby back there. I swear, I hold my breath every time the ball gets kicked or thrown to him. For that reason alone, the money that Walter got was well-deserved, IMO. He's an absolute vacuum when the ball is thrown in his vicinity. I think he'll be more prominently featured this year as now we have him locked up long term. No need to have him put up monster numbers and drive up his price in a contract year, right Mr. Smith?

Didn't AD make the pro bowl as a return man in 2008?

I like having him, he's above average and doesn't make mistakes.

    We could definitely do worse.

Jacoby is just a track star playing football IMO... crappy hands, terrible field awareness, no blocking, but man can he run and jump like nobody's business.

I don't think he made it after the 2007 season when he had those back-to-back kickoff returns against J-ville. Josh Cribbs was the kick returner in 2008 Pro Bowl (after 2007 season?), and Justin Miller was the KR in the 2007 Pro Bowl.

You're right, AD isn't going to make mistakes, but I just want him to be the guy who got that big contract. Ever since then, it seems like he's just brought the ball out to the 20 or 25 and goes down. There's value in that, sure, but not at the clip that we're paying him.

Davis averaged 24 yards per return which was 15th for guys that returned 30 or more and just 1 40+ yard return. So he looks solid, but not spectacular.

Jacoby Jones was 13th overall in punt return yards (although it should be higher cause some of the guys ahead of him only returned a couple punts), but he did lead the NFL in 20+ yard punt returns with 7 and was 2nd in 40+ yard punt returns with 2. He was 14th in fumbles on punt returns (not as bad as I would have thought actually)

From the naked eye, without looking at stats, Davis looked below average in the kick return game last year. He never gave you the feeling of being able to take it to the house at any time. He would always run STRAIGHT into the kicking team, without putting on any moves. It was like he was satisfied just to get it to the 20 yard line

Which was my point exactly!! For arguments sake, let's say he fielded the ball at or behind the goal line and ran it out to the 20 yard line where he proceeded to run into the oncoming wave of tacklers and gets brought down there. He may have been credited with a 24 yard return, but he didn't accomplish anything. I remember this exact scenario happening time and time again last year.

BREAKING NEWS: John MClain is on a diet, via twitter

    McClain_on_NFL

I lost 45 pounds two years ago then gained it all back plus 29. I have to lose weight or I might not be around for Texans in the playoffs.

My goal is to lose 69, see if I can keep it off during the season, and if I can, try to lose another 30 and see if I can keep that off.

I've lost enough weight for a linebacker. I've gained enough weight for an offensive tackle. I've gained 74 pounds in less than two years.

It's a year-long program for losing and maintaining. Lopez swears by it. He's at his A&M weight and looks terrific. My goal is 69 pounds.

I watched 610's John Lopez lose 50 pounds since Thanksgiving. I'm getting on the same diet today at Quick Weight Loss Centers.

Why does he feel the need to talk about his weight issues on the internet?

At least he's trying. We need bulbasaur to stick around a while. The next Texans beat writer might be even worse.

So besides absolutely nothing, what do the Texans plan to do this offseason? Watch everyone sign other players?

Re-sign our players (OD, Ryans, & Pollard) and hopefully continue to draft pro-bowlers.

Can you create a list you of players you would like the Texans to sign?
