The first big move of the offseason by the Texans... davidcanter Matt Turk has resigned a 1 year deal with the Texans Congratulations Matt SPLASH!!!!
Ravens making a push for Kevin Walter. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2010/03/ravens_still_linked_to_kevin_walter.html
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4967074 Cromartie to the Jets for a 3rd rounder in 2011, with possibility of it becoming a 2nd rounder. Cromartie's only got one year left, but still would think that Texans would have been extremely interested... Also been hearing that Cards would trade Boldin for a 3rd; Broncs Marshall for a 1st. Kind of curious if anyone here thinks Boldin for a 3rd would be a good move. I'd much rather use picks on positions of need, but having a Boldin/Johnson tandem would be sweet...
I have a feeling were not going to get Walter back...McClain's twitter... I get the sense that they are willing to maybe even overpay for him. It would definitely suck to lose him.
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Falcons-closing-in-on-Robinson.html From the start, it looked as if free agent cornerback Dunta Robinson was heading to Atlanta. Now, it appears as if the race is all but over. Robinson could sign a long-term contract with the Falcons “within the hour,” according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Widely regarded as the top cornerback in this year’s free agent class, Robinson recorded 64 tackles (54 solo) for the Houston Texans in 2009. The six-year veteran was drafted by the Texans out of South Carolina in 2004. Stay tuned.
Wow that sucks, we have to go out and get a legit #2 reciever if thats the case. Jacoby is more of a slot type reciever, and he doesn't have the hands of a #2 either. That hurts
Sounds like Chicago is going hard after either/both Peppers and Kampman. Hell they are even targeting Chester Taylor. Though it's hardly a need, the idea of AJ and Boldin together with (hopefully) OD is pretty awesome.
Peppers to the Bears is pretty much a lock. On the Boldin for a 3rd talk, I would do that in a heart beat but a 3rd seems really cheap for him. Sounds too good to be true
Boldin for a 3rd round pick? The guy is just as good, if not better, than most of the guys that got 1st + 3rd round tenders IMO.
I agree...Adam Schefter reported it and I tried to look up a source and this was something I found too. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2010/03/report_arizona_only_wants_thirdround_pick_for_boldin.html
I hate to see us show no interest in Chester Taylor, but I'll wait to see what kind of contract her garners before making a judgement. I've always liked the guy and he's surely got some tread left- we should be looking at total carries along with age in evaluating these older RB's.
I had heard the Texans were going to be after him? This sucks, I should show more patience with FAgency but I see all these playoff teams or potential playoff teams positioning themselves to make moves and NOTHING from the Texans. If they lose DRob and Walter while doing nothing to replace or god forbid UPGRADE the position it will just suck.
I don't think the Texans are going to do anything in FA of any serious note. 1) The Texans have never been a big game hunter in FA 2) Bob McNair is one of the leading owners in the fight for a more owner-friendly CBA. 3) They fancy themselves as the next Steelers/Patriots type organization. A team that builds from within and has long term stability that ultimately leads to success.
the texans are rasing ticket prices and want commitment but they cant commit to ANY of our top players.. this is a joke
anthony weaver? robaire smith? they dropped an inexplicable amount of money on Jacque Reeves and then gave 40 mil to Antonio Smith.. what are u talking about know ur history b4 u talk like u know the organizations transactional history, they dont get the BIG named FA cuz no1 ever wants to come here so they overpay for lesser ones
Yea I read Matt's post last night about the CBA so I agree we won't see a major acquisition but dam we are so close. It's so frustrating that we could be one good player away from the playoffs and honestly not saying we should overpay for some of the big fish but the Texans have gone out and made FA acquisitions like Antonio Smith and Ahman Green in the past. I'd take Taylor in FAgency, a good draft and it would make me a happy campier.
Way to lead the charge Bob. Don't sign anyone ever, what a strong statement! You are the man. ...he better sign someone legit
