[rquoter]The Bobcats and the NFL's Houston Texans are the only two franchises in North America's four major team sports that have yet to reach the playoffs in their respective sports.[/rquoter] Just thought that was interesting.
interesting, but not surprising. By far the 2 newest teams of the 4 major team sports they're talking about, right?
They are the 2 newest, but not by far. Minnesota Wild & Columbus Blue Jackets were started in 2000, but the Bobcats will probably make it this year, and the Texans will be the last team without one. They have a good shot at making it next year though.
ah--didn't start following hockey until more recently, so I didn't know the years on them. Though basketball and hockey with 16 teams making the playoffs makes that more likely for those 3 teams.. but yes, the Texans better make it soon and get off the list
but how many years will the texans have to wait to get in the playoffs, I would say 9-10 years, the saints had to wait 20 years to get in the playoffs.
Rome was being an ass, as usual, by asking him so many times what it felt like to not get in the playoffs again. Asked Andre about if he thought the franchise made moves that were questionable. Andre answered "sometimes", but he wanted to win a ring with the Texans and retire a Texan. But didn't say anything about ever wanting to be moved
http://twitter.com/Adam_Schefter Texans will pick up $10 million option bonus payment in QB Matt Schaub's contract as early as Thursday, tying him to Houston 3 more yrs.
Rome is an idiot. I can't stand to listen to his radio shows. Between the constant, awkward pauses, and him always trying to call me a clone (seriously, WTF is that...I don't like you, nor do I want to be like you). The guy sucks.
This is great news. Schaub has developed into one of the elite qb's in the league. Just hope he can stay healthy.
dont forget when he has nothing to say, he'll audibly shuffle his papers for about 5 minutes before he repeats the same exact thing he said prior to the "paper shuffle"
Also, when he thinks he's saying something funny, he'll repeat the same joke over and over again, each time with an awkward pause in the middle of it. It drives me insane. I can't stand listening to him, and I honestly think that the only reason he's so famous is because he caters to alpha-male wannabe's who do nothing but rag on each other from their recliners. All he ever does is jock whoever the flavor of the month is at that point in time. He really has absolutely NO real insight into sports at all.
Say we get Earl Thomas in the first round.... If he's available, in the second round, come our turn to pick, do you draft Mardy Gilyard and let Walter walk? I would. Gilyard is gonna be a bargain pick... Unless a Kyle Wilson or Perrish Cox is available...then I'd think twice.
Not a bad idea. Also, I think that Jacoby puts it all together next season assuming he works his tail off in the off-season. He has the ability to be a legit #2.
I think having Gilyard across the way from Andre would be comparative to having an Anquan Boldin across from Fitzgerald, only I think Gilyard will be better than Boldin. That, coupled with an emerging Jacoby in the slot, would make this offense dangerous. In order to keep dreaming, you put a newly revitalized LT in the backfield, sign a quality offensive lineman or two, and you've got (arguably) a Super Bowl contender.
