I think the trend of players punching the ball out of a ball carriers hands is going to make fumbles more prevalent for all NFL backs. Like Peterson yesterday, when a 250 lbs. man slaps full out at the ball, it's coming out unless you have two hands on it and you can't be shifty with both hands on it.

So lets get Toby Gerhart or Jonathon Dwyer in the third if they are still there.

Dwyer isn't gonna last till we pick in the 2nd imo. He's gonna be a stud

But to your point on the fumbles, I don't see it as a trend...guys have been doing that for a long time now. The vikings were carrying that ball incredibly carelessly last night, and it annoyed the hell out of me as a fan

Yea guys have been doing it for a long time, and often times when you go for the punch out/strip you miss the tackle because your not wrapping up. So it's a risk/reward tactic

Texans hire Greg Knapp as QB Coach.

    Chronicle

Not exactly the best OC in Seattle, but he's got the Schaub connection. Good enough for me.

For a QB coach, Knapp is a good hire. He has lots of experience as a OC and worked with Schaub in ATL.

It's official....The bench press does not exist at the University of Alabama. Mount Cody weighed in at 370 pounds at the Senior Bowl giving people deja vu of Andre Smith last year. People were expecting him to weigh below 350. He could be on the path of dropping out of the first round (which IMO would be a reach at any pick that round), but could serve as the space eater in the 2nd round we could use.

I heard today on radio in which someone brought up a good point. They said he could "eat" himself out of the league 2 or 3 years after which may scare some teams off. He'll get the money and then just crash out and be out of the league. I tend to agree, and probably wouldn't draft him until the later rounds if I was going to draft him.

I doubt that happens. The highest Cody will go is the late 1st but in all likely he will go in the middle 2nd round. As a result, he won't get a lot of guarantee money. Big guys like Cody can weigh 360+ pounds and still play in the NFL for 10+ years. Ted Washington played 17 years. Grady Jackson and Sam Adams played 14 years. Tony Siragusa played 12 years. Gilbert Brown played 10 years. These were all huge guys there whole career. These type of players last long in the NFL. All I know is going Cody demand double teams all the time in running situations. He won’t play on 3rd downs and that’s why is going go in the 2nd round in all likely.

He's already proved he can eat himself into the holder on field goal attempts...

Seriously, I wouldn't mind him in the second round IF and only IF Chad Jones and Kyle Wilson are off the board.

Anyone else watching the Pro Bowl? Schaub and Andre with the starts. I'm kind nervous for Schaub, hopefully he doesnt get hurt...how ironic would it be for him to make it through the whole season without missing a game then gets hurt in the Pro Bowl.

Sidenote: Schaub hits Andre for the games first TD!!

There's no blitzing in the Pro Bowl and guys aren't out to deliver big hits. Just look at how Mario pulled up when he could have taken a clear shot at Rodgers. Sacks are rare in the Pro Bowl, people want to see offense.

Haha Mario just blew off the line, flying right past the right tackle and was clear to blow up Aaron Rogers but the nice guy he is just slows up and jogs by him to save him. Hope the NFC shows the same respect to Schaub

There's definately that respect but whenever i think of the Pro Bowl and big hits I think of this classic moment...

Darn, Marshall said he don't think Houston is a go or on his list, heh.
