I know that McClain usually knows his stuff so I'm sure it is true.

 

I completely agree Scar. Vince made a huge mistake in assembling his mgt. team.
1) The no suit at the White House.
2) Not showing up to a Reebok metting he had agreed to at the Superbowl.
3) Not showing up to a party thrown by Tagliabue at the Suprbowl.
4) Not being properly preped for the wonderlic test so as to at least crack double digits.

Couple this with the questionable decisions to sign autographs, make wack appearances on TV., and a website that borders on the satirical. Very poor desicions.

I didn't even need to look. I knew that one was coming. I think I know why Vince plays so well in the "clutch". It is simple, he doesn't know what the hell is going on. The coaches just tell him to run or throw. Notice his reaction after he scored the GW td against USC. He did not even celebrate. The "it" he has is that he is so dumb he is not rattled by anything.

As ridiculous as that is, I'll play along. Even if all of that is true... who really cares? As long as he gets it done, as long as plays so well in the clutch... why does it matter what the reason is as long as it gets done? We need the Texans to draft the best football player, not the best Trivial Pursuit player.

 

UPDATE

An NFL insider on ESPN Radio has reported that the rumor of Vince scoring a 6 is "100% inaccurate" and is false. Of course, this is not exactly confirmed either, but it has just as much credibility as the initial PFT report.

 

Why did John Mclain confirm it then?

 

hmmn....interesting. It seems too good to be true. There is no way anyone is that dumb. A five year old could answer some of those questions

 

Did you hear the report or are you just passing it along from another board.

I just find it odd that Mclain would confirm it and then it turned out to be false.

 

I'm passing it from Hornfans, but multiple experienced posters (2500+ posts) with credible reputations heard it. As I said, it may or may not be true, but I'm very confident it was said.

As for McClain, I'm sure he's passing along what he knows. But newspaper reports and "scoops" are wrong all the time. Certain agents and teams use the media to pass along misinformation to damage or enhance the reputations of certain players... the draft has its politics too.

Matt Jackson confirmed it in another post. I'm still not sure if I believe it or not. A SIX? I've heard VY in interviews and when he talks, he definitely doesn't sound illiterate. You'd think if someone were that dumb, you'd be able to tell just by talking to them, their vocabulary, etc...
