Just like you'd be shocked if Texas even beat the spread vs. USC and Vince didn't have five turnovers, huh?

I really hope the Texans pass on Young to go for a scatback like Bush.

Ideally, the best player in college football will slip to the Jets. Having Vince Young playing across the river in the Meadowlands would be awesome.

I'd gladly toss the Texans, and their storied history and their awesome focus-grouped slogans and trade dress, under the bus. I didn't grow up with that team, and I don't live in houston anymore - who really cares? I sure don't.

In fact, i might become a Texans-only basher, sort of like the way bigtexxx approaches college football. Or not, because the texans aren't really relevant anyway.

You are seriously a tool for reverting to the one prediction I got wrong. This is an open debate, i'm not bashing anyone, i'm just giving my opinion.

Would you care to elaborate on my prediciton that Sura would not return this year, that the Lakers would probably make the playoffs, and that Kobe would win MVP all before the season started? Granted those things haven't happened yet and may not, but I got ridiculed as if they would never stand a chance of happening initially. But none of that matters right? Because I went with Vegas and picked USC to win. On top of that Texas had a miracle comback and Pete Carroll forgot how to coach, yeah you're right, i'm an idiot and nothing I predict holds water.

Ok guys, the Vince Wonderlic score is true. I emailed John McClain who is at the combine and he just replied to me. Here it is, my original email is at the bottom:
    -----------------------------------

On 2/26/06, McClain, John <John.McClain@chron.com> wrote:

True. You can read about in the Chronicle Monday. He can take it as much as he wants, but even if he doubles it, a 12 Wonderlic score isn't good enough to be a starting QB in the NFL.

    John,

The rumor that is making its way around the net is that Vince has scored a 6 on his Wonderlic test. Since you are at the Combine, can you confirm what his score was? Also if true, do you think that hurts his draft stock?

If Vince really scored a 6 on the Wunderlich, it could be a great news for the Texans. It would likely drop him quite a bit, making Leinart the clear number one QB in the draft. I wouldn't be surprised if a team like the Titans came up with a pretty nice package to move ahead of NO and take Leinart.

Can we all agree that the Texans shouldn’t draft an illiterate quarterback?

I don't think we should take a quarterback at all, and even if we did.. I'd take the highest rated one.. not the one that all the scouts etc have maybe even slipping to the 3rd qb now

    not all, but many have...

If we wanted a qb, it would be silly not to consider Matt at least over Vince..

You're still making excuses... "miracle" comeback... Pete "forgot how to coach"... etc. I'm not saying you're an idiot, or even that you aren't a good poster. When it comes to basketball, I think you give really good takes. But for whatever reason, you seem to have a pretty intense bias against Vince Young/Texas when it comes to analyzing college football. That's all I'm pointing out... that for whatever the reason, you don't seem to be very objective in this. I hope I'm misreading the situation, and if I am, I apologize... but some of your past posts have me questioning your objectivity about this. You sound as objective about Texas as I am about the Colts. :)

This score should prompt an investigation of UT's academic integrity. Really, it should. If Vince is illiterate, then a lot of questions arise as to how he scored high enough on the SAT to qualify, as well as how he maintained his academic eligibility while enrolled. Something doesn't smell right here...

Let's see - there's that, and then there's Reggie Bush's height (5-10 7/8 < 6-0)....there's the Arabic woman milk poisoning scandal....death and destruction and mayhem from absinthe use....

    Yup, you summed it up.

Well the Miami Herald picked it up, and they confirmed the score with several NFL Executives.

    I am somewhat skeptical.

But if true (havn't seen it on ESPN, CNN or Fox) this sinks his shot at a #1 pick for sure--and the Texans interest outright or via trading down. Probably #5-#10 range I would guess. Doesn't mean he won't be an NFL player, or even a QB (Marino, McNabb, and McNair scored sucky), but it means he is a riskier pick for sure. It would also means he has a horrible manangement team--not preparing him better or having him skip it if he was going to score that bad.
