I think we should just stop using anything from college as any kind of argument for or against a player. For both sides, you can dismiss any accomplishment made in college wrt how it will predict how the players will do in college.

If everyone could just understand that a) successful players in the NFL had NCAA careers of varying success and b) there is no sure thing in the NFL draft ever, the next two months won't be the longest of all-time, just like the last month and a half has been.

Eh, who cares the truth? To see the woodies some posters are getting at this rumor is just sad.

Hey, I heard Bush and Leinart like to dress up like little girls before sodomizing each other with their Heisman trophies. Hey, it's on the internet, it must be true!

    Signed,
The third round pick that was traded along with Ricky Williams for David Carr

ESPN Insider isn't all that credible either.

Here are two rumors in the last few months from profootballtalk.com.

I'm not saying Vince couldn't have scored a 6 on the Wonderlic... it's possible. But I'd wait until I hear it from more sources than PFT before worrying too much about it.

    Then...

And those are just a couple of Texans-related examples. Similar mistakes have been made for every other team around the league. Again, I'm not saying they can't be right on the VY situation. But PFT will publish almost anything and everything they "hear" that has potential shock value, regardless of taking time to check the facts. This isn't a done deal until you guys hear it from an additional source.

Damn that is pretty telling. Sounds like just a pure sports gossip site....I agree, not credible at all.

That's what I'm thinking. It literally could have been some guy joking around saying "Oh I bet VY scored a 6" and then someone overheard it.

Like I've said, it's really bad if true, but we'll have to wait and see I guess.

Anyone else typing really carefully right now? :p

rocketman95.. I don't dislike Vince, my boy is just Cutler.. :) So I kind of like to see Vince hype calm down some

Even if it were true, he probably could retake it.. surely you can't score that low twice in a row.. but I still don't believe it is true quite yet.. seems unlikely.

I know, it's too bad Cutler's not getting any hype at all over one post-season bowl game.

AAAHHHH!!!! OVERLOAD!!! When do I get to scramble?

I bet he knows what 41 minus 38 equals.

The answer is a national championship for those who don't know.

What is the number of losses by Vince Young since mid-October 2004 multiplied by the square root of of 4,322 cubed?

rocketman95... my feelings are though that Cutler should have been getting hype all along.. his hype really isn't from one bowl game...

His stock was going up before senior bowl.. once the season ended people started to watch his tapes and see that he was the real deal.. if people had been watching him all along they would have seen he was a top 10 quality player long before senior bowl...

Most people don't realize it.. I do because I follow Vandy.. but way before recently scouts etc that had seen Cutler play really liked him.. scouts have liked him all along.. it's just now getting more media publicty

The rumors VY scoring 6 are turning out true...

    http://www.houstontexans.com/fan_zone/messageboards/showthread.php?t=19090&page=3

Everyone there is hearing about the confirmation of it, and also on postpatterns.

Here is a quote from a moderator on realgm who went to the combine:

You do understand that the only site the people on both houstontexans.com and on HPF.com are citing for the "confirmation" is profootballtalk, correct?

Again, this is still all coming from one website, a website that historically has been incredibly unreliable. I'm not saying it can't be true, but the links you prove show basically nothing that we didn't know five hours ago.

I'll be shocked if VY goes in the top 5. Regardless of what he scored on this test.

Judging from the rumours on these sites that might be the case. Maybe to #6 to Oakland. But who knows.

This is great news if true. We can now get Bush with our 1st pick and Young with our 2nd.
