"Don't worry, I will not let you down. Mark it down. All these experts will tell you next NFL season, 'I never said he wasn't talented'. Just mark it down, I am going to see to it. The backpeddling will be so loud across the country (and ESPN) it will sound like the thunder of a thousand 'we never said he couldn't throw the ball....sports analysts"- VY ;)

(ESPN) will be running VY highlights like they picked him themselves in the draft.

Let's just wait and see, wait and see.

Madison High, UT, NFL...... welcome to the machine

    It's called a generalization.

Of course Carr has thrown a some good passes.

One good throw for every three crappy throws is about the right ratio.

I know what we have in Carr. A middle of the road QB. I'd take my chances with Young over Carr any day of the week.

yeah, we're done arguing. you threw up a ton of "system" QB's up there to compare to VY. VY isn't a "system" QB.

Luckily, You're not the GM of the Houston Texans.

He isn't? they didn't build the offense around his talents , making him throw short easy passes?

That's not true at all. Many scouts debated whether or not Yao or Jay should be the first pick. The only reason Yao wasn't discussed the whole time was because there were concerns about his committment to the Chinese National Team. Jay's stock stayed the same. Depending on who had the #1 pick, Yao could have went #2. Dunleavy was the guy who had his stock rising.

Personally, I don't think Cutler should be selected in front of Young. If I was picking between the three QB's I'd take Young. I also think Bush is one of those special talents that you never pass up and i don't feel the same about Vince. I think what he accomplished is amzing and he deserves all the credit in the wrold for it but I'm not convinced he will be a great player. I am about Bush. If you asked me what my opinion on each was it would be that reggie Bush will be regarded as one of the best players in football in 5 years. I think Vince will be good but not at that level.

You don't know anything about the texans or david Carr. You're too blinded by your love for Young or hate for carr to see any other perspective. You KNOW what we have in Carr. That's amazing because even after his struggles most gm's and talent evaluators still think he has what it takes to be a really good QB. Hey, who cares what they think though right? You already know what we have in Carr. What scouting position do you hold in the NFL again?

Yeah, Vince did operate in a shotgun system that was completely built for his talents. It's one of the concerns about him and it's obvious to everyone that he operated in a specific system. If fact, it was the reason for his success. It's not a knock on Young either, he excelled in that system but you're wrong on that.

I just heard on 610 that Mike Vick led the NCAA in passing efficiency in '99. That's translated into him completing around 50% of his passes in the NFL.

    Something to consider.

I didn't know that. That's going to be a hard fact to dispute considering a lot of the basis for Young being this great passer was his efficiency rating. I promise you Vick made harder passes too (it's in his nature more then Young's).

Odd rating system. He only has 12 TD, 5 Int, and a 59% completion percentage, yet he has a 180.4 QB rating. I don't get it.

It's the same system that had Vince at #1 this season.

Take a look at the number of passes Vick attempted. It's more than 100 fewer than every other passer on that list, and over 250 fewer than some of them. Sample size, folks.

Just noticed the YPA for Vick and he blew everyone else away. I there had to be some reason why that rating was so high.

my bad ... i didnt mean to be so abrasive. i just think its funny that a bunch of keyboard junkies think they know how to scout/run an nfl team. go back and read some of these posts. crazy. for the record, i think bush and vy will both be great players. i think we need to roll wiht whatever kubiak decides.

LOL at ic2k thinking mcneal will be a 2nd round QB pick. those aggys sure live in their own little delusional world
