And Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart had even better players around them, and VY put a big giant "In-Vince Able" stamp on their foreheads and their win streak.

This is what I don't get. Someone wins the national championship every year, but suddenly when Vince Young does it he is the best ever. Against Oklahoma last year, in one of the biggest games in his college career, he couldn't put a point on the board against a team who gave up 55 points to USC.

Hell, they are even talking about Cutler being picked ahead of Young now.

I wasn't agreeing with it just beating him to the punch. But wasn't he talking about McNabb, and not Bush or Leinart?

It isn't like UT fans were the only one amazed by VY's performance. It was the best lots of guys have ever seen and VY was as amazing as any player they have seen. Guys like Keith Jackson, Dan Foults and Lee Corose--seen a lot of football in their time and VY wasn't even "their guy", pretty much owned up to it. Even Matt Leinart pretty much admitted Vince Young was the most special individual football player on the field after the game. Maybe he changed his story now.

And it wasn't just 1 game. It was 20+ strait wins, and 4 huge games. 3000 yards passing and 1000 yards rushing has NEVER happended in a season before. NOT ONCE. He was at the top of passing efficiecy. What more do you want?

You know someone dug up last year that I was skeptical of VY as a QB at that time. There is a post to prove it. I was never one of these guys saying anything VY touches will be gold from the moment he signed with Texas. But his win streak, his big plays with game on line, his sheer dominance even with other great football players on the other side, his unprecedented statistical season of passing and throwing, I ain't blind.

Hindsight is 20/20 , i am not even sure what your point is with elway and aikman. Vince wiped his ass with A&M when? More like he always keeps us in the game. I watched the rose bowl. He had nice stats throwing the ball. But they were all basic simple passes . When the game was on the line he took off, which is fine in college. The same thing he did against michigan. I don't care about Young's stats. That doesn't make him a good passer. It means he can do the easy basic passes. Just like the tech QBS who have great numbers. Mcnabb is a far better passer than Young could ever dream of. I don't give a crap about what kind of stats they both had in their last years. That means nothing now. Vince Young will not be Mcnabb, elway or montana. He will be kordell stewart. Thanks for helping me on the math, but I don't need it. I am not an uneducated idiot. Tim couch sucks. Not sure what your point is with that either.

How many Rbs have ever gone number one compared to QBS?

USC blew the game. Leinart and bush both played well. Its not like they can do anything about their hideous defense. Hell even the #118 ranked pass defense shut down radio.

And we still scored 40 points of you. It must suck when the highlight of your season is getting beat by 11 at home.

Actually yeah it does, the highlight was probably slipping by Baylor at Kyle Field. The 40 points had nothing to do with Vince. The Ut team was a great team, I am glad we hung around with them with our QB making his first start.

You guys did actually beat Baylor this year? Scoreboard I guess. I think we have a better winning % against you guys than you guys do against Baylor.

He had a bunch of nice runs , especially in the clutch. And that one pass against ohio state. The more you see it though, the more you realize it was a poorly thrown ball

it appears UT is 73-34-5 against a&m and a&m is 63-30-9 against baylor according to a&m's website. if you just take the wins and losses, UT's win % is better. if you count ties as a half-win, we still have the better win %, and by a slightly bigger margin.

IC2000, It's weird that you think that the throw against OSU was a poorly thrown ball. As I was watching the game today I thought that it was a damn good throw considering the coverage and Vince throwing to the ball where only the receiver had a chance to grab it.

So, this was according to a$m's website?

Yeah, I guess he runs pretty well in the clutch.

Sweed has the corner beat, a throw over the top gets the job done. i think Vince was trying to do that but the ball came short and sweed turned all the way around and made a nice play. That being said , it was a catchable ball. Just not a particularly great throw, as always noted.
