I'd give anything for all draft talk regarding Bush/Young be locked and anyone attempting to start a thread about it be banned.

    Of course, I can't stop posting/looking. :D

I think this thread has made a turn for the worst.

In other news, Mouton has signed a LOI for Michigan.

I like Vince as well but if Brady Quinn came out this year, VY would've been the THIRD QB taken.....not too sure if that's a lock for Hall of Fame..but he IS from Houston....

i read alot and post very little....but i must add my 1/2 a penny on this one....i wish young the best, but how far has a QB of his mold or type gotten in the NFL? I dont doubt he will be amazing to watch, but what about injuries? I just feel like Bush is a cant miss and I also have not yet given up hope for Carr. I just find it hard to use two top overall picks in 4 years on a QB each time. I say nab Bush, and pray they pick up some missing pieces in the rest of the draft and FA.

And somone selected Tim Couch before McNabb too, right?

Ki-Jana Carter (the last #1 pick on a running back) over Steve McNair?

I had been bringing up the Kelson wheel route play for quite some time. It is one play--yes keep that in mind, but certainly helps to dismiss the idea that just lining Bush at WR messes up the whole defense because one guy can't come close to sticking with him on routes. (This is a college LB mind you, not a pro safety or nickle back). One of Bush's supporters had been saying you line Bush out as a WR and it is like having Steve Smith (the Carolina one, not Bush's teammate) out there. Basically the line was in Reggie Bush you are getting Barry Sanders and Steve Smith rolled into one player, how can the Texans not like that.

This thread is getting tired, but as long as their is misinformation and I have time and feel like responding, I'll be around. It is going to be a long couple months :)

McNabb, McNair, Elway, Steve Young, Staubach, Culpepper, Cunningham? Lots of elite QBs bring a mix of outstanding athleticism, scambling (to pass ot downfield), and passing to the table. Not saying VY will be as good as Elway (1st or 2nd best ever pro football player) or Staubach--highly unlikely, but as long as his arm strength tests out OK I like his chances to belong in the others' company. Certainly every bit as good odds as Bush is in the company of Payton, Sanders, Smith & Faulk when he is done.

Found this on the Titans official site

Young looking to impress NFL scouts prior to draft

    The Associated Press

MIAMI, FL, Feb. 1, 2006 -- Vince Young was back in his Texas Longhorns' No. 10 jersey Monday, competing in a made-for-TV event and wondering whose uniform he'll wear next.

Still savoring Texas' victory over Southern Cal in the Rose Bowl for the national championship, Young took a break in his offseason training routine and flew to Miami to join 11 other players in the college football all-star challenge.

Missing from the event were Southern Cal's Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart, Young's chief competition to become the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft. Young declined to predict which team will take him.

"I don't know," he said. "It's kind of crazy right now. You hear that a lot of teams are trying to trade, a lot of different things. You never know what's going on."

Young's hometown Houston Texans draft first, unless they trade down. Then come the New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans.

In the three weeks since his Rose Bowl heroics, Young has spent a lot of time at home working out, enjoying his mom's cooking and relishing the Longhorns' first outright national title since 1969.

"I'm enjoying the moment," he said. "To show the whole world that we can play football down in Texas meant a lot to me."

No scouts were evident at Dolphins Stadium as Young competed with quarterbacks Brodie Croyle of Alabama, Drew Olson of UCLA and Charlie Whitehurst of Clemson in accuracy, distance and scrambling contests.

But there will be plenty of talent evaluators present when Young takes part in the NFL combine Feb. 22-28 in Indianapolis. Young will throw and meet with teams but won't lift weights or run.

"I just feel they know I can run," said Young, who rushed for 200 yards and three scores in the Rose Bowl. "They've seen my speed. I want to showcase my arm and let them get to know me as a person in interviews. I want them to ask any question they have for me."

Skeptics say an odd throwing motion hurts his prospects. But Memphis running back DeAngelo Williams -- another all-star challenge participant and likely first-round pick -- said Young has a shot at being drafted No. 1.

"It'll come down to the combine," Williams said. "If he has a good combine, he can take it. He has a funky throwing motion, but he gets it done."

Young said he plans to travel to Tennessee next week to visit friend Steve McNair, the Titans' quarterback. He heard recently from another NFL star, Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams, who won the 1998 Heisman Trophy at Texas.

"I got a letter from him," Young said. "He just said he enjoyed watching me play. That was big coming from a great alum and a great guy."

Williams, who did not graduate from Texas, went fifth in the 1999 draft. Young is almost certain to go higher than that -- and he'd love to join the Texans, even though they went 2-14 last season and changed coaches this month.

"They're trying to build a franchise team," he said. "If they need me to come down to help out, I'll be happy to do it.

"It would be a great accomplishment going as the No. 1 pick in the nation. It would show how much a team wants you and wants to build around you. That's real sweet."

It is funny that you bring up misinformation. I feel like you are highly biased towards VY - and that's cool if that is your opinion. But when discussing Bush 90% of the time you refer to one game - the Rose Bowl. You have referred to one play where a guy happened to cover him numerous times- to me from the clip in the locked thread it looks like he is watching the ball and trying to adjust to an underthrown ball. I love Reggie, I love VY they are both phenoms, but I think you are often taking minor shots at Bush to pump up VY. I have a problem with that. I like Bush, and I hope they draft him or trade for a terrific package, but I wouldn't say anything negative about VY or his game to make my case for Bush. Bush played very well against UT, it may not have been his best game, but he put up a good number of yards against a top 6 defense that is NFL fast. That is impressive, and I don't care if he got all them on shovels and screens or how he got them done. I don't care if he only touches the ball 15 times a game, if he scores at least once a game then he is worth the top pick. If his presence opens things up for AJ and the other receivers then he is worth the top pick. BTW, watch the Bush highlight clip in the locked thread about Bush against the UT LB, there are several runs where he scores that start out between the tackles :D

Everybody is overstating their case for their player and trying to bring the other player down. With Reggie Bush you get Marsall Faulk, and with VY you get Steve McNair(slightly better running with VY, and slightly better passing with McNair).

Question is, who would be better on the Texans, Steve McNair or Marshall Faulk?

If you really break it down like that I would much ratherh ave Faulk. In his prime he won a superbowl and was the best running back in football. McNair almost won a SB but has had an injury plagued career and is a good but not great QB. Faulk is a HOF for sure. I don't know about McNair's chances.
