most people who are extremely opposed to drafting anyone but VY should then be just as angry at out new coaching staff, yet majority of this board was extremely high on the coaching changes.

If you look at Kubiak/sherman/reeves and crew they have been with many great QB's and for them to make the decision to stick with carr should hold enough weight to give carr another chance

i like carr and think he can be a top 10 QB this year with a new offensive scheme and hopefully enough time, im a believer that he hasnt had the opp to succeed the past 4 years with a new franchise and no o line

texans have had a rough start and when its all said and done gotta support whomever they draft

because VY is a hometown guy, i think alot of VY supporters will have carr under a microscope the moment he messes up hell hear about it and the "i told you so's" will come, even if Bush is performing

    go texans

What other leverage do we have other than idle threats?

Draft Vince or I'll hold my breath till my face turns blue!

The really crappy part of this, as equally crappy as not drafting Vince is that Budhole and the Tennesee Polecats can draft him. It's like your best girl dumping you to marry some dick you can't stand. It will torture me for the rest of my days.

I could live with him as a Raider though, I could get into the WWF outlaw thing. (misunderstood and foresaken by his loved ones, he turns to the Darkside to roam the Earth as an outcast while secretly saving the planet)

It's almost like we're an expansion team or something.

2-14 is like a nightmare that I haven't woke up from, I'll certainly grant you that. We couldn't have played any worse last year. But I would argue that we surprised a lot of people our first 3 years in the league. For my money, we were right on schedule after our first 3 years.

If we've been the worst team in the league for the last 4 years, why isn't this our 4th overall #1 pick instead of our 1st? I'm not sure what your expectations were for an expansion team's first 3 years, but for my money, we were right on schedule...until last year.

But whatever. Agree to disagree. It's not really the subject of this thread.

So you want to spin this thing back to me.

I have attended just about every home game for this team. I haven't been a very happy camper either. When many VY supporters respond to the question about why the Texans should select Vince and they respond with, "He's a winner". Please take off your Rose Bowl colored glasses and answer the question. Just because he embarrassed USC's lousy defense at the end of the game, doesn't make him a shoe-in for Superbowl victory.

You have your mind focused on 1 player. David Carr can throw that little 5 yard dump pass that Vince can. David can also throw a bootleg pass. Vince can run better than Carr in the open field. I have said this over and over. I don't want a player that uses his running to win games. I want him to be a QB first and not a running back.

Will Vince improve Davis' durability? If you add Vince into this offense, you have 2 passing threats and fragile DD. If Carr gets the protection he needs and Kubiak can restore his confidence. Help him read defenses, and adjustments during the game, we have a player in Bush that can share time with Fragile DD or add him as a 3rd receiver.

Carr has not had the supporting cast to be successful. This is what I don't think you realize. I honestly don't think you know what it takes to win a championship. I don't believe it is fair to count Carr out and delay success for this franchise 2-3 years. I like VY, but I think Carr will improve under Kubiak. I guess time will tell. If Carr doesn't pan out, I'll be disappointed, but I won't have any regrets. If you prefer to spend thousands of dollars on seats to watch VY on the bench, good for you.

I like the direction that this team is going before next year and I'm glad that they don't listen to people like you who respond to questions with VY is a champion and that's why we'll win.

That's not the answer to winning a championship.

While VY fully displayed his running skills at the Rose Bowl, he's a much better QB than you think.

One of the things people overlook is his ability to buy time. Yes, VY had a great OL, but his ability to scramble and hit the WRs is unlike anyone I've ever seen. That's what made McNair, Culpepper, and Elway so good. Kubiak's system requires a mobile QB, right now, I don't think there is a more mobile QB than VY. For a team that has had so many OL issues, you would think adding a QB that can create time on his own would be a huge asset.

That's a lot of "ifs" IMO, but I agree with what you're saying. It's not like this matters since we're not picking VY, but you're assuming that we wouldn't get anything in return for Carr (if traded). So it was never Bush/Carr vs. VY, it was Bush/Carr vs. VY and whoever we got in a deal.

I've said all along that if Kubiak thinks Carr can take us to a Super Bowl, then I'm willing to give Kub the benefit of the doubt. But IMHO, I think the Texans will regret the day we passed on Vince Young, whether it's next year or 5 years down the road.

It's almost like we're the only expansion team ever not to make the playoffs by the fourth season.

Yes, its not Young, but it still kinda sux that it's public...We all knew...

Anywho, Bush will be our guy as I don't see us drafting Mario...I'll be buying my Bush jersey, and I guess we'll all forget about his Family's living situation as they'll all be living in Houston soon...

Well Reggie Bush is sure to be a better acquisition than- Buchanon, Babin, Charlie Hill, Tony Hollins, Gaffney, Weary, Faggins, Baxter, Joppru, Wand, Ragone, Earl, Duff, Johnson, Morency, Brown and the 19 out of 20 first year expansion draft selections who aren't even on the team any more.

Add to that all the great free agents we have signed these past 4 seasons and I can see why all the drool over Reggie Bush. We can add him to the long list of impact players on the team. Andre Johnson.

He has to be better than the scrubs that CCasserly signed in the past.

Drafting Bush makes up for it all and Casserly is a genius.
