There's no need to lie anymore. The trade offers aren't there and we're about to sign Reggie. Their goal is to announce the signing on Friday. Why bs, what's the point? They have come to a conclusion and are letting the fans know what's going on. Go get your Bush jerseys guys.

Culpepper got the Vikings a 2nd. Carr wasn't getting us a first.

I think people have already felt Carr's had his chance and he sucks. We may not be right and we may be wrong - who knows. That offensive line is a piece of ****, but that isn't the only reason Carr sucks

Maybe at this point it's clear that teams aren't going to give up enough to move up? That said, it does seem that Casserly talks way too much.

I never said I'd stop being a Texans fan.

I have been a Carr basher... and still will be unless he improves a bunch.

I'm not a Bush basher but I would prefer we draft Vince.

I think it's a better pick long term.

    I'm dissappointed today.

I'll be pissed on Saturday if Vince goes to Bud in TN.

I know exactly how you feel. I remember about 50,000 people in the Dome to watch Madison beat #1 North Shore 61-58 in one of the greatest high school games ever. I'm not mad but I'll pull for whatever team Vince goes to and becomes a full time starter.

i said something along those lines. i was a season ticket holder of the Texans the first two seasons. even after that, the Texans still don't have "it" with me yet. i guess that means i'm not a fan. i grew up with the astros and rockets. they "feel" very different to me than the texans do. very different.

i won't be rooting against the texans. i'll be rooting for them. my 6 year old son absolutely loves the texans. he'll keep me a fan...even if it's not in the fanatical way i am about the astros/rockets. i'm hoping they'll grow on me more than they have. i haven't experienced the wild swings of up and down with them yet. frankly, i don't like their management even a little bit, and that doesn't help.

the team i lost when the oilers left still hasn't been replaced. the oilers were a joke. bud is a joke, and i'm glad he's gone. overall, i think it worked out very well for the city. but emotionally, it's just very, very different.

i'll definitely be pulling for VY. and what's really strange is that, for the first time in my life, my favorite player in a particular league won't be playing for the Houston team.

I agree 100%, and its even harder trying to like the texans when you live outside Houston.

    Davis > Carr

IMO if you're drafting by need, VY isn't the answer but neither is Bush. VY and Bush are special players that you take regardless of need. 1A and 1B. True, Bush's impact can be immediate while VY will need to be groomed. I'm willing to wait for VY. VY is a leader who will earn the respect of the team. Weren't there rumors Carr doesn't step up? All else equal, hometown should be a plus for VY.

Taking Bush over VY is a diss. If not VY, the Texans should take Bush.

How do you know that Davis is better then Carr? I like DD, he's a solid NFL back but he's nothing special. He also can't stay on the field which is a huge problem for me. Carr (who seems to have everyone question his heart) has taken one of the worst beatings of any QB in the history of the NFL. Our OL was a joke, the kid has never had a chance. Trust me, Carr is going to make a lot of people eat crow. I just hope those who doubted him step up and give him his credit when he has a good season next year. You can't throw from your back. Our OL does a good job of run blocking, but they couldn't stop me from getting to the QB if I wanted to.

I think the question marks regarding Carr are:

    A) Is he a leader?

    and

    B) Is he a winner?

Regarding (A) above, several teammates expressed frustration over his refusal to throw the ball away to avoid sacks. Not to mention his run-in with Gary Walker. He didn't command much respect in the huddle, especially with his on-field tantrums after getting sacked. Of course such is to be expected when you're the worst team in the league.

With regards to item (B), that's a huge question mark. David Carr has never won a big game in his life. He played at Fresno State, where didn't lead his team to a single WAC conference championship. He won only 1 bowl game, something called the Silicon Valley Bowl.

    sorry!! :)

i know i was very excited about pro football returning to Houston. and man, did i try!!! i bought season tickets. and i really do like the Texans a whole lot. just not on the level of the other two teams. i hope that changes.

at this point, my enthusiasm for the Texans is largely centered around my son who loves them. i hope they kick ass.

Yes, taking a player rated higher by virtually every expert is a dis.

    <sarcasm>
"Sorry Vince, the concensus is that Bush is the number one player in the draft. By virtue of this it means that you suck and will never amount to anything in the NFL. We hate you. Never come back to Houston ever again."

    Sincerely,
    The Houston Texans

The "quote" was supposed to have sarcasm tags around it but I guess it didn't work.
