[Official] Reggie Bush or Someone else -- Vince Young out of running

Those are 2 excellent articles, and pretty much match what I have been saying all along.

1. Bush is gonna be good, but not great (doesn't run between the tackles and everyone in today's NFL can run fast).

2. Vince Young is the best player in the draft but teams do not know how to classify him.

VY is a freak at QB, and will be the best player in the NFL inside of 3 years.

They used an extra DB at times because USC's offense required it. Are you saying that the nickel back spied Bush? Because that's a blatant lie.

Everything that writer said is true. Texas' team speed contained Bush for the most part, even while keeping Leinart and the USC's potent passing attack in check.

Reggie Bush is an ESPN product and is probably the most overrated college football player since Ryan Leaf.

Did you watch the Rose Bowl? Nobody is saying that VY without a doubt will be unstoppable in the NFL.

We are saying that a COLLEGE defense definitely stopped Bush. Call me what you want I'm just worried about spending a #1 pick on a back like Reggie.

RB goes for 500+ yards = Heisman.

VY goes for 500+ yards = relatively no response.

Reggie isn't the most overrated player since Leaf. He is however an example of what the ESPN hype machine can do to public opinion. Just watch what it does for Notre Dame and Brady Quinn this year.

 

13 rushes for 82 yards - avg 6.3 yds per carry

6 receptions for 95 yards - avg 15.8 yds per reception

And if you really want to throw stats from one game up there.....here are Vince's stats against Texas A&M this year, one of the worst defenses in the country:

13-24 - 162 yards - 1 TD - 1 INT

11 rushes for 19 yards - avg 1.7 yds per carry

 

You spread that over a 16 game NFL season and Bush would have only 1312 rushing yards, and 1520 receiving yards for the year. Yuck.

 

if a COLLEGE defense (UT) definitely stopped Bush, then it's fair to say VY's performance was due to a weak COLLEGE defense (USC). you can't have it both ways. i'm in no way discrediting VY's performance or questioning his talent, I just don't have my burnt-orange colored glasses on.

 

the difference is vy was stopped by ohio st, but he beat them with his arm.

 

How many of those came on the UT prevent defense with about 19 seconds left?

How many of those yards were on the "fumbled lateral" play that made any yardage gained worthless?

 

No, I understand what you're saying. I never said VY will NOT be stopped. I'm saying we've already seen how RB fares against a fast defense.
