No it doesn't suck. We are about to get one of the best prospects to ever come out of college into the NFL. A heisman-winning, superstar athlete with a "burst" and moves that doesn't seem human. Do you remember the Bush bowl? Every single team wanted this guy. This is the equilavent to when Shaq was coming into the NBA and all teams were sweatin balls hoping to get the number 1 pick. Well you know what? WE got the number one pick in this situation. YOU, as a Houstonian should be estatic, elated that we are drafting this guy as would ANY nfl team who had the #1 overall pick this year. Reggie Bush is a rare, sensational, one-of-a-kind athlete, who could possibly revolutionize the RB position, and he's going to be a HOUSTON TEXAN. wow. And you won't be watching? Un-freakin-believable

Reggie Bush is great. He has shown me nothing to say he is one of a kind and will revolutionize the RB position however.

He is not the equivalent to Shaq because 1 player in football doesn't have the same impact as one in basketball.

i WISH i felt this strongly about the Texans. i certainly do about the Astros and Rockets. i was a season ticket holder...i'm very glad NFL football is back in Houston. but i just don't feel this way about the Texans yet.

Like Kwame? You can get burned in any draft, any sport.

    WTF?

    Revolutionize the RB position?

He was a part time player in College....how is he going to revolutionize the RB position from the sideline?

Kwame was no where near Shaq's level when coming out.

How about like Duncan or Lebron, the only other players I think can of coming out with as much hype as Bush...

He may be the 1st number one pick to be on the sidelines when the game was on the line. Who knows.

As a UT fan, you should be thankful that Pete Carrol is an idiot. However i'm not sure how that has anything to do with how Kubiak will use this sensational athlete in the NFL.

Before the game he was a genius? You don't think that there's any chance there's a reason a guy who had coached his team to 34 straight victories had the next Gayle Sayers on the sidelines for three straight plays.

Regardless, it's a joke. I'm happy with Bush.

You guys need to just drop this whole "WE ARE DRAFTING VY" comment

cause we aint drafting him ............ he's overrated right now in Houston, a real #5-8 guy trying to get the #1 pick because of 1 game?.

    Look:

All year every team in the NFL probably had Reggie Bush #1-2 and we trying to LOSE just to get a hold of him. (but no talk of VY during the NFL season to go #1-2)

IF VY didnt score that last TD, and UT lost the National Champion game he mite not be so high on everybody's mind in Houston.

Nobody mention about drafting VY after he beat Ohio St or as the college season went on to be #1-3

Reggie Bush has been playing "amazing" all year and everybody wanted him on here even till Jan 1. 06 when we played SF in the "Bush bowl" but 3 days later his "team" got beat on a LAST TD drive and people are hesitating now???

I think VY is overshadow by being in HOUSTON and he just so happen to pulled of the USC game so everybody wants him now because we usually only remember what happen most recently in our minds, but I think getting VY is similar to ....... signing CARLOS BELTRAN! he brought the excitement in HOUSTON .... but 1 game or playoff series doesnt make u a goood player.

    also,

If lets say VY wasn't from Houston, would any of you guys really care about getting him .......... or most of you VY's fan would probably be still wanting BUSH after the "Bush Bowl" so why would we OVER DRAFT someone just because he's from HOUSTON? if he's not the best player if he wasnt from here?

i'm not sure why it's so difficult to understand.

as of the date of the SF game, VY was adamant he was staying in college. it was widely believed he was serious and would stay in college. after the Rose Bowl, he decided to come out.

fans didn't know he would be available. and after they watched he, bush and leinart line up against each other, many felt that, if he would go pro, that the Texans should take him. that's the evolution of this thing. you would have a valid point if VY were a senior or if we all suspected he was coming out after this season...but that wasn't the case.

The reason no one talked about VY467 until after the Rose Bowl was because it was widely expected that he would return to UT for his senior season.

if any team hadn't won the superbowl then they wouldn't have won it.

Had ML and Jarrett not made the key 4th quarter plays versus ND, Texas is #1 the last half of the year, VY wins the Heisman, and the whole Bush Bowl thing is non-existent.

Funny things is neither Bush nor VY have worked out yet. This with a totally fixed opinion for Bush are pretty senseless when it was obvious VY was the better college player when he was on the same field. Granted you could argue Bush is less likely to fail at the pro level, but you would at least want some workout evidence (40s, weigh ins, drills, VY throwing) on your side. Otherwise you are just showing your bias against VY or for RB without looking at the evidence.

IMO if you want to compare Bush to a basketball player you should start with Dickie V's (and US medias) favorite Jason Williams. Kinda small for his position, some flaws in his game, but a great highlight player who killed people based on raw speed and athleticism. We will see if the Texans were as on top of things as the Rockets were.

Bush barely weighs 200 lbs, he will get creamed in the NFL.....Young weighs 245 lbs, and is just filling out.

Vince is more suited to the rigors on the NFL, IMHO......

Reggie will be a quick scat back type of player.....the question is will he be Eric Metcalf or Joe Morris?

I hope the Texans are satisfied, they have already blown one number 1 pick.

Sure he is

I mean back to back national championships and finishing 2nd in a 3rd....yep, he is an idiot.

Or, hey, try this on for size....he knows Reggie Bush better than you do.....

    SHOCKER !!!

How about Marshall Faulk. 5-10 211 lbs.

Not that much diffence in body size.

Tiki Barber had 357 carries for 1860 yards last year which was third in the NFL in attempts behind only S. Alexander (370) and E. James (360). Tiki Barber is 5-10 and 200 lbs.

Bush's size will not be a factor.
