Its amusing....I find that people on this board and houstonprofootball.com seem to have this idea that Vanderbilt is full of Nashvillians or that people in Nashville like Vanderbilt. They dont seem to understand that they worship the other orange-wearing state college using the 21st and 20th letters of the alphabet. Cutler is from Santa Claus, Indiana. He's not a Nashville boy.

And I dont want the Texans to draft him....or any other QB.

AND...I want Vince or Cutler to play for the Jets bc I'd love to see them on TV here in NYC.

 

Sorry that Longhorn fans can't be as level-headed as you high and mighty Vanderbilt fans. We only want our professional teams to draft UT players. It has absolutely nothing to do with anything else.

Whats amusing is that I consider myself a Longhorn fan, too. My wife went to UT and I probably watched more Longhorn games than Vandy games in my lifetime since I grew up in Houston.

Want I really want is to see the Texans have any chance of beating the Cowboys this season. And drafting someone thats gonna sit on the bench this season is not going to do that.

 

I hear ya, man. I just get annoyed (obviously) at the assertion that the only reason people want VY is because he went to UT.

BTW, I have a special spot in my heart for Vandy. I met two DMB members right across the street from there.

rocketman95.. I understand, and I know Vince is a special player. I know you want him for his talent and not just because he is a UT guy, I just don't think this board would be so slanted towards Vince if he wasn't a longhorn.

I just get annoyed when people look at only Vince and don't even look at the other quarterbacks at all. I think Vince will be good.. and I do root for UT to win since they represent my state..

 

i think he means you don't pass up on special talent just because you have that position filled. particularly if that position has been filled in a very mediocre fashion to date.

 

Exactly! I'm curious of your opinion on this. I actually think Jay being a Vandy guy would HURT his chances with the Titans. From my experiences in Nashville, I think the Titans fans are anti-vandy and Cutler more than pro having the guy who went to college in the city play for their NFL team.



Shoot, I had this silly idea to go to an interview in nashville just for practice (not that I'd accept a job there) and I pretty much had to apologize for going to Vandy... and anti-vandy sentiment is pretty strong among some of those people

but if you're right....we already have a running back. i think he's proven himself to be a better RB so far than Carr has proven himself to be a QB.
