Well, there you have it. The conspiracy theorists were correct. This was just too obvious.

Apologies are now in order, folks

I think most of the world realized he really did score a 6 the first time. Mcnabb, etc.. also probably scored lower their first times, however the information wasn't leaked as it was for VY. Since you can take the test as many times as you want, the highest score is the one reported.

Its still sad that this information was leaked. Very unfortunate.

I never doubted the 6, but I never doubted the 16 either, and since this is basically an IQ test you have to take the high score as his real score, the first he just wasn't prepared for or he didn't take it seriously.

Why is it such a big deal that it got leaked?

Obviously, a 6 raises a red flag. A red flag that I want to know about.

Weren't you the one mocking his sources a few days ago? Did you change your tune since his sources fit what you want to hear? Are you saying you should apologize to VesceySux for not believing him? It seems that would be appropriate.

I think its a big deal because its personal. And, all of the other players, only their top score was reported. So it isn't fair to VY that he has more than one score being reported. I'm assuming thats why the one who leaked it was fired.

I think the main red flag that should be raised is, How did he complete 3 years of college at a major university? Perhaps this is why Mack Brown was so irate that the score was leaked.

Anybody would improve the 2nd time around - especially around time management. That's why in elementary school kids who fail the test get to do the retake!

You can't study for an IQ test.

I think it's unfortunate. I also think it doesn't hold a lot of meaning. He apparently got a 16 less than 24 hours later. Unless he got a whole lot smarter in 24 hours, something messed up happened. Since I don't know what that was, I'm not going to make a fool of myself yelling and screaming about a number.

If he did in fact get a 6 and then a 16, then how many players before him have done the same, but not had the 6 leaked? If you don't know that, then why focus on this one? Dan Marino had a 12 or something. Do we know if he had a 4 before that? Seems like important information if you're going to make Vince Young comparisons to anyone else.

Besides which, if Vince is not very smart, it will become very clear to teams drafting him. If he is, that will also become clear. Any team looking at top 10 players has a whole lot more information than a generic test. This is much more useful for 4-7th rounders who most of the time don't go through individual workouts and interviews and such. It seems a controversy that is manufactured and pushed by people who really don't know much the NFL draft process.

Now, where's your apology to VesceySux?

I'd guess he probably lost track of time and just didn't finish. You can guess at every one and get more than 6 out of 50 questions on avearge.

That's true, so if you're saying that all he did was hurry up the second time around that means that you think his original score does not reflect his actual intelligence. Thank you.

From the rumors, his agents didn't prepare him. So you're comparing someone's score the first time he's taken the test, to other players' scores who have been prepped and taken the test before and such to alrady get that timing down. If you believe everyone will improve on the second try, why would you make this comparison unless you had an agenda and were not interested in being particularly fair?

Dude, I've always been objective. If I get new facts or information, I incorporate it into my decision-making process and attitude, even if it means completely changing my stance. Many posters here, including yourself, should try it, for the sake of ALL intelligent discourse around here. The BBS would be a better place if people kept an open mind.

I agree with Major, texxx. Just a few days ago, according to you, I was Mr. Self-Important, and I got my info from ESPN. Now I'm lauded as a savior for the pro-Bush camp. Who's suffering from confirmation bias now? I want an apology.

Keep in mind that I don't know anything about Vince's 16 or him taking the test again. All I know is, when he first took the test, he did indeed score a 6. Yes, there have been other confirmations of this, but I'm "one of your own." Not earth-shattering news here. Just a firm confirmation.

It's not my fault Beltran was a flake. :) If Beltran's agent (the main guy on his management team) says he's almost positive Beltran is signing with Houston, who am I to argue? Beltran's wife wanted to stay in Houston, too...

But hey, at least I tried to keep you guys up-to-date on that one. :)
