Casual UT fan here. I'm going to the Sam Houston game next year...but I'll be decked out in SHSU gear and sitting near the band, since that's my alma mater. I'll have a beer in one hand and.....a beer in the other hand. I'll be ready to celebrate the moral victory of holding UT below 100 points! And cheering for my alma mater till the bitter end.*

You know what? You are right. This thread got totally derailed when the Texans re-signed Carr to that monster contract. The VY/RB debate is dead, there is nothing left to talk about. No wonder this thread got derailed.

I'm all for locking it up.

Of course, anyone with a pulse knew the Texans would use Carr's extension regardless of if they intended to keep him or not. He's too much of an asset to just let him walk.

The point is that some people put a little too much into stats.

Yeah true, but anyone with a pulse knows that if they were considering trading him then they would have chose the 2 year option or franchised him.

The score confirmed my beliefs that he was below average intelligence.

Espn front page article says Young's high draft status could be dropping. It also mentions that Leinart got a 35 on the Wonderlick

ITiot2000, this is so bogus. Actually UT fans in general hate on OU in a lot more nasty ways than on A&M, regarding A&M it is much more jovial and lighter stuff.

It is kind of weird the hate at UT, not just from A&M but everywhere. High school kids announcing their decisions to attend another university and giving the upside down Horn sign. Other teams’ fans with no rivalry with UT doing the same. It is like hating on UT has become bigger than routing for their own guys. Kind of weird phenomenon (I can kinda relate because I admittedly dislike Duke BB to almost this level), and gives me little sympathy when we kick their ass, which happens far more often than not in most all big sports these days. Tech fans are exceptionally obnoxious given how little they can back it up, they want UT to care about them so bad, but they are so far down off the Longhorn radar it just makes them even more mad.

BTW my wife is a Aggie and I have been smuggled into Bonfires and seen Elephant Walks in stuff. A&M has some fun and rich traditions, and their band playing through campus gets your hairs standing up, freaken awesome environment. The Aggies I know have no problem recognizing VY is an amazing football player. And her father (also Aggie fan) called me mid Rose Bowl to say he was wrong about thinking Reggie Bush was better than Vince Young. Anyone with an once of objectivity would say the same thing.

You have been relentless and baseless (not to mention classless) with your criticisms of Vince Young. If you could explain why: did he steal your girlfriend and throw her away or something? Maybe we could understand, so far it just seems like reactionary emotional filled drivel from a guy and his team that has owned your team.

It is funny, usually the guys that say these things say winning, leadership and intangibles are more important than stats. Since you can’t beat VY on stats, winning, leadership, composure, presence, impact—whatever with an once of objectivity, you just start making things up and insulting him personally. Can’t beat the message, attack the messenger I guess.

I have said he was a great college QB. I do not think he will be a good pro QB. He has the leaderhsip and intangibles. The stats , yea he has those too (but so do all sorts of college QBS). So now its does he have the talent. I do not think he does. Its the same as arguing against Bush. You can't argue anything concrete against him.

The hate thing is in reference to this board. In general yes the hate is more towards ut, because they are in the spotlight.

Which score? You mean the fake one or the real one?

Anyway, your prior beliefs are based on what? Your personal interaction with him? His on-field performance?

The report is he took the test twice. The 2nd score was a 16. I don't think anyone really knows what happened the first time. 16 is still terrible. Yes,I have had personal interaction with him.

I know exactly what happened - the first time the test wasn't validly administered and/or scored and the result was invalid.

He only received one valid score: 16.
So he did steal your wife!

    mystery solved.

If you truly believe this debate is over, why do you keep coming back?

I don't believe there is any debate or that there ever really was. It might be trade down or Reggie now.

There is obviously a debate on this board. It's just some feel some things are completely ruled out when nothing has been ruled out so far.

PS 16 is a pretty low score, but it is still higher than Marino, McNabb, and McNair's.

Yes, read this thread/forum for links to the news stories which explain exactly that.

PS You're still a hyper-biased Aggie who can't talk rationally about this.

Yea thats it! I am biased because I am an Aggie. I praise UT and other UT athletes but am biased because I am an Aggie. Back to that trash. It seems thats the only debate left.
