    All I can say is - and I'm sure Hakeem himself would at least publicly agree - is that I hope he does lead the Rockets to more than 2 championships.

    Even if harden brings us 5 ships, how does that make dream 'obsolete' in any way?

    There was no such thing as a Hakeem Only Fan because it was just Rockets fans , absolutely pure and Utopian, it was called CLUTCH CITY.

    And in 1999, when Clutch changed it to Clutch Fans to reflect this Utopian society, the greatest Rockets fans assembled together and vowed to defeat non believers and uphold the standards set by Clutch City.

    To this day, Rocket fandom will never be the same unless we exterminate and cleanse this house of toxic vermin called player only fans.

    Of course Hakeem was our best player on both sides of the ball. Who has the time to make a list of past mvps who were also arguably the best defensive player in the league at the time.

    Finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and MVP in the SAME YEAR.

    Unless you watched Hakeem play every night, you won't really understand how talented he was and how GREAT he was on defense. Olajuwon would be a hall of famer on his defensive accomplishments alone. Harden is a juggernaut on offense but it's still unclear if he can lead a team to a championship like Hakeem lead. Time will tell and I'm rooting for him and this team, its been a fun season so far.

    Hakeem had discipline in his personal life, it made a massive contribution to him being consistent night in and night out.

    We knew in fall of 1993 that we had a serious team. You could tell from the win streak and way there were playing that we were the best. The current team is close but not there yet.

    With that, I find the thread title offensive. May Ralph Sampson have mercy on your soul.
