Great move for the Clips. You can't miss on an opportunity to bring in CP3 talent to play with Griffin. Caron Butler allows Gordon to be somewhat expendable. The clips should also make a move for ariza or Okafor from New Orleans in that trade since Jordan is gone and they need a SF. Paul Butler Ariza Griffin Okafor That's top 5 in the west. I'm also in clips fan if it isn't noticeable.
So word is over there Jordan's not going to get matched and is going to the Warriors? Would be a pretty good lineup though. Wish the Rockets could land the younger Gasol...
You have to tank for years hoping you get luck enough to land at the top of a draft with someone of the caliber of Lebron or Dwight or Blake Griffin. You can tank and not be bad enough so end up with the #5 pick or end up near the top and get a guy just good enough to make you mediocre. Or what if you get the #1 pick but you don't draft a sexy star that makes others want to come play with him? I wouldn't trade the Rockets run for the Clippers just to get Blake Griffin. I don't want to spend decades being awful with awful games, bad coaching, etc. just for the chance to cross my fingers and hope that a top pick falls to us in a year with the right guys available.
If the Rockets tank this year, they will be in a stacked lottery next season. If the age limit is raised to 20 for 2013 draft, then that draft will suck. The sophmores for 2013 draft would have left in the prior draft(2012). The new freshman would be ineligible. The 2013 draft would be left with upperclass men that had low draft stock in 2012. The Rockets need to give more playtime to Morris and Patterson to develop them, if they have any hope of them being starters. The "over-30" strategy with Scola won't help Patterson's development.
It seems like he is being forced to go to the Clippers since they have the best offer. **** you Stern!
Damn, now even the Clippers are gonna be more relevant than the Rockets. Way to use your assets LA! For those wondering, Clips can start Ryan Gomes at SF and then put Caron Butler at SG. Starting lineup would be lethal, but no bench at all. This draft is full talent and is expected to be one of the best in recent years. I'd take my chances with that as opposed to the mediocrity treadmill.
sad that management has to worry about blake migrating to one of 4 team every well known player with a pulse wants to play on
Shouldn't an owner, or someone acting on behalf as the owner, force the GM to take the best offer? How can anyone deny that this package, if it goes down, is the best one for a team that's rebuilding and up for sale?
So much Clippers nut-hugging. Note the draft position the past 10 years: Clippers: #1, #8, #1, #7, #14, #12, #4, #6, #8, #2. Rockets: #14, #14, #23, #25, #26, #8, #24, #21, #13, #1 Even with all this, without David Stern the Rockets would be a top 4 seed in the west while the Clippers would be fighting for the playoffs. Are you people sure we should follow in the Clippers footsteps?
Damn. Imagine the Clips' pick-and-roll game... the purest PG to grace the hardwood in a long, long time gift-wrapping alleys to Blake Griffin & DeAndre Jordan. Those 2 will be fixtures in the SC Top-10 this season. Move over Lake Show, the f***in' Clippers... the CLIPPERS... are the cream of the crop out West. Never thought I'd see the day... unreal. Jordan's going to blossom w/ CP3 at the helm, just as Tyson Chandler did in the Big Easy. ALL of the attention will be on Paul and Griffin, and Jordan will quietly rack up 12 and 10 (Marc Gasol #'s). If the Clips can get their hands on an elite outside shooter, they're going to be extremely tough to handle. Dallas (as much as I hate to say it...) and OKC will run the show out West, but LAC and Memphis are lurking. Spurs, LAL, Houston, Portland, Denver, and Utah all in a dogfight for 4 spots. Should be a tremendous season. Buckle up, b****es.
