When he plays with Griffin, all those doubts go out the window. And when Griffin takes a bigger leap in his year 3, look for Paul to sign the extension.

I understand all that. However, the owner of the Clippers is still Donald Sterling. He has screwed his own franchise over and over and over and over. I'm not betting against that happening........one more time. And don't think for a minute that Paul throwing lobs at Howard wouldn't look just as good as him throwing them to Griffin.

I would have liked to include Mo Williams and Trey Thompkins instead of Eric Gordon. It will get vetoed anyways.

Well said. If I were a Hornets fan, I'd be loving this deal. The clippers, I really think that they shot the gun WAY too early on the Gordon, Bledsoe, Griffin experiment.

Plus, the hornets get a likely lottery pick next year when the draft is going to be LOADED.

    1) The Clips deal wasn't even out there at the time, apparently.
    2) Again, he should have respected the autonomy of whoever was put in place to be the GM of the Clippers, to avoid even a semblance of a conflict of interest. Instead, Stern acts like Putin.

Yeah at the time there was no other deal. So Stern is still wrong. This deal wasnt around.

With this precedent set super stars could cost a much higher price in the future. Which will make it even more difficult for the rockets to get a super star.

lol they did it because its good for the clippers. Cp3 is a top 5 player in the nba. Any time you can get CP3 with Blake you do it and lets not forget how much this will help Deandre Jordan. Clippers are a legit title contender now.

Stern did a great job this deal is way better then the rockets package.Gordon is a young building block and the pick their obtaining will be a top 10 pick at the least. The most overlooked part of this trade is that the rockets package would of put the hornets in the same dead end position as the rockets, a mediocre team who would of wound up either sneaking into the playoffs or having a late lotto pick. Now the hornets will have a tough rebuilding year next year but in next years draft which will be one of the best in years they might have two top 5 picks with their own pick and the Twolves pick.

Damn I wish we were in their situation. Bottom line is that in the one deal david stern has ever done he showed that he is ten times the Gm that Morrey, morry, Murray or whatever his name is

Clippers making a big mistake.. they're giving up way too much for CP3.

No it won't, this was an exception because the Hornets are owned by the league. Superstars will continue to have the power to go where they want....

You have to do whatever it takes within reason to land a CP3 caliber player.

    Paul/ Billups / Mo/ Bledsoe
    X/ Foye
    Butler/ Gomes
    Griffin
    Jordan

This roster is incomplete, but you can fill a Sg and a big quite easily in this league. I wouldn't be surprised if they make a move for Odom somehow and signed Reggie Evans and Rip Hamilton.

You could call it whatever you want I prefer to call it rebuilding, Hornets are in a better position then the rockets are

    Yes, because Stern interfered inappropriately.

It's about time for the Curse of the Clippers to kick in. Chris Paul is one knee as it is. Good luck with that.

Really did he, Stern did what was best for the Hornets. Remember the NBA owns the hornets, what was Stern supposed to do allow the hornets to take a mediocre deal? Stern needs to make sure that the Hornets are a viable franchise and drive up it's value for potential buyers.

Understand that after next year the Hornets will be one of the most exciting teams in the NBA. Eric Gordon and having two potential top 5 picks has all the makings of a franchise on the rise. The only way to be an effective small market team is to build through the draft and thats what the NOH have done.

Morrey, Murray, Maury povich or whatever his name is should take notes from stern on how to build a franchise. Stern handles one deal and he already proves he's ten times the Gm.
