Clippers aren't bidding against another team. They're bidding vs. Stern's ego. Only way to win this is by threatening to walk away

Chris Paul deal is getting dicey. NBA asking for more, sources say, and Clippers are against it. Don't blame them.

This is a great trade for both clippers and hornets. This situation is more ideal for Paul than lakers in terms of fit. That said, they talk about looking out for themselves and teams are looking out for their own, the players don't raelize how much they alienate the fan base. They came out, spend their hard earned money to watch him play, buy his jerseys, support him through thick and thin. We all(especially here) know the impact and escape that sports has for us. We really become loyal and feel like the players who represent our city/us are our family, players like Lebron, Melo, and now Paul/Dwight have more than anyone alienated their fanbase that even in loses stay loyal to our squad.

With lal of this, I hope Paul and Dhoward get boo'd every arena they go through just like lebron. They didn't do it like him, but them, Melo, have the right to leave and choose where they want to, but it is not necesserily right to do just becuase they have the right to do it. Screw the franchises/owners, the loyal fans at home that have no choice but to stick with our team and just invest mentally and our money to support our players and say we are in it for the long run. Look at our very own fans in clutchfans, we haven't been as competitive, but all stay here and stay loyal through thick and thin.

This reminds me of the animation someone did last year with Morey and NY's GM. I don't remember it exactly but "I want the soup kitchen, Walt Frazier, naming rights to MSG.............". I may have butchered it some but you get the idea.

Why, given all that's happened over the last few days, do I have a sneaking suspicion that CP3 will be traded to Cleveland for Baron Davis?

Can the Clippers disclaim interest and file an antitrust lawsuit to get some leverage in a Chris Paul trade?

All I can offer at this point in CP3-to-Clippers talks comes from source close to situation: "This is a circus."

David Stern is going to make sure Chris Paul stays in New Orleans.

So is Stern going to make Paul stay in New Orleans? Can't be a FA? Can't leave?

    I joke about it but...

Shouldn't the union be taking legal action right about now?

It's so funny because at the end of the year Paul walks and New Orleans is left with jack.

Let's go in and get Paul and whatever junk they want to get rid of straight for Martin, Scola, Dragic, Hill, no. 1 pick and cash.

Yep, it is an old negotiating trick to constantly ask for more and more, with no intention of actually ever doing a deal.

If he trades Paul, he opens himself and the league up to a massive lawsuit because he turned down the Lakers trade already.

I think CP3 is stuck, he may sue, but the league can always say "Sign the extension, you are not losing anything"....
