With the scoring outbreak the last three days, and the up and down nature of our play the last couple of weeks, one thing has gone unnoticed (no, it's not the stupid lineups johnnie runs out there) THE PEN IS BACK Pressley has 10 scoreless outings in his last 11 appearances. That one outing was bad with 4 earned, but in the other 10 he has allowed 6 hits, 1 bb, 13 K Abreu hasn't been scored on since July 15...JULY 15! Covers 18 2/3 innings with 22 K, dominating Neris hasn't been scored on in his last 7 1/3 innings, 0 hits, 1 BB, 8 K Montero...yes, the player everyone loves to hate on Montero...Has been scored on once in his last 14 outings...11 2/3 innings, 2 earned in one of those games the rest scoreless, 18Ks That's the back end that did as much as any unit on the team to win us our second ring last year! This is a pretty extended period of domination by them which more than anything can help overcome dusty's ignorant and biased lineup decisions If those guys keep it up, we can indeed overcome and win it all again. I want back to back titles badly
How great it is to see Jose Abreu smacking that baseball around? It was clear the Rangers strategy was pitch around the batters in front of him and make him be the one to beat them, and he answered the call. Man when he and Pena produce in the lineup it just changes freakin everything.
Abreu has had such a consistent career, I just can't believe he has struggled this bad until recently.
Well, depending on whether they choose to play the best lineup, which is only “sporadically”. But next year with a sane manager they should challenge for 2019 Astros/1927 Yankee levels
It covers up Maldonado, makes it less of an eyesore. I just hope Maldy always bunt when there's a man on 1st with less than 2 outs, don't even swing the bat.
Bro there is no guarantee he isn't back next year He knows everyone is pissed at him, including some players, and he very well could enjoy soaking that up And there is ZERO chance Crane wacks him, ZERO. The decision will be all up to the duster
They don't have to do anything. Dusty's contract ends after the last game played. Crane could just ignore it and move on...if he's smart, and I'm sure he is
Close Last year we had Framber and Javier both at the absolute top of their game But Vintage Abreu, Pena and a strong Montero does make this group the likely favorite when it comes to playoff baseball But reality is, and I know you are more a supporter of Dusty, but reality is if we don't play our best lineups in the playoffs we give ourselves a lesser chance to win. Whoever it was that made the final lineup decisions in the playoffs last year seemed to understand that, and we need the same thing again. I'm not even talking about Maldanado cause I know he is going to play
The Ticket just played Linkin Park's "The End" coming out of commercial to discuss Arlington's utter collapse. They've given up on the division and are praying they can catch Toronto. They're calling it the worst regular series in Mall Cop history and believe it's only surpassed by Game 6 as the lowest point in their history.
Legally it is as simple as that But if Dusty says he wants to come back, Crane isn't going to be the one who says no
On one fan site, they were thinking we cracked the pitchcom and knew what pitch was coming. If you look at some of the pitches that were hit out, I would be asking why that pitch (are they being too predictable)? Even Staton said it on the broadcast when J. Abreu hit the slam
I was there last night, and it was a very pleasant temp inside. What was even more pleasant was being there with three Rangers fans who were depressed and moping all game long.
He is actually a good bunter, just don't see many try to move runners over anymore since the analytics has shown it to lead to less scoring
Mariners get lucky again with the Rays choosing to use a bad starting pitcher. 6.04 ERA at home and has given up 4 runs in each of his last 3 starts (12 Runs in 16 innings). SMH But the Mariners have won Castillo's last 7 starts so perhaps this was going to be an auto-win for the Mariners regardless. Might as well get rid of your worst starter.
