That thread was even after he had played on the rockets and then was sent back to the G league I remember posting in it cuz I was super confused like "wtf... we already saw him and he sucked ??" But I was told that he's a g-league superstar and therefore he's amazing lol
Did you believe @DaDakota when he made the thread about not tanking this year? Well .... he lied. Be prepared for at least 55 L's and a whole bunch of pissing and complaining about everything. Trust the process. Embrace the tank.
he just doesn't have confidence. man does one thing really elite and thats get to the hoop with his big ass frame but throws up bunnies. made an absolute circus layup the other night and he just has to get over the fear of failure. that will be the make or break of his NBA career. if you're a role player in this league you have to max out on one particular trait to stick on a roster. tons of guys out there that are average at everything. you can't add to a roster if you don't do anything exceptionally well.
He is thick like Harden, but the point about him not using his body is 100% correct, he should be a bowling ball going to the basket and drawing fouls....but his low confidence in foul shooting is hindering that. Either he gets it this year or he is gone......pretty simple really. DD
He is not nearly the athlete of Harden and about 1/5 his speed. Let’s not kid ourselves…this guy really sucks and the only reason he made the team is because his best friend is that assistant coach from the g-league.
There was a play last game that really made me wonder if he can ever be a good nba PG. It was that play where Tari was running the fast break and got it to him on the wing expecting to get it back at the rim. Nix got it to EG for a contested 3. EG found Boban rolling to the rim but Tari was wide open the whole time at the rim. It was so wild that Nix didn't find him that Tari looked pretty pissed about it. It was the kind of play you would be upset with a middle schooler over
showed more glimpses of his finishing ability last night. let's hope the game can continue to slow down for him. he played a lot crucial minutes down the stretch there.
His suckiness was not as sucky as usual, but he still sucks. This is another one of DD’s misses. Garuba would be off the team if it was up to DD. He will be a solid rotation piece as soon as we get a decent coach. NIx will be out of the league before long.
Neither Nix nor Garuba has shown they can be anything other than fringe NBA player at this point. Nix has some ball handling tools to build off of, Garuba's skill set "undersized but try hard on defense, set a screen!" is basically the Ryan Bowen starter package. There's probably 50 guys in the G leage and NCAA who are more or less perfect substsitutes - at this point.
Even last night I didn't see anything from Nix that makes me rethink that he is out of the league in less than a year. I've also never seen the passing touch others count as his skill. I have only seen him crash into 3 defenders, put up a lame attempt at a shot off the glass, and occasionally it goes in....a lot of times there is at least one or two far better shooters open while he does this. He's got a roster spot here because we are a bad team without a lot of depth but he's about as replaceable as they come and is just a warm body for the tank at this point. I feel guilty even wasting this much thought on him...
