While I probably won't go see this, my nieces are too old to see this or even care about it, I will probably watch it when it streams.........looks like it might have a good twist to it and well............Margot Robbie, nuff said
Looks like it is a decent movie in the early returns, so that makes it a must watch to see how they pulled it off.
My lady friend and her friend and some daughters thought it was incredibly fun. I was told that I would like it, so I guess whenever they see it again I'll go with them.
Wife and I watched it last night and I'll say I was very impressed. It's edgier than expected to be honest, its all very meta but its a fun ride even though it really hammers home the feminist theme in the last act. There's more adult orientated humor than expected which I'm sure will go over the smaller kids heads. Robbie is tailor made for the role but Gosling is hilarious, pretty much steals the movie. There's no reason for a Barbie movie to be this well done, B+
You know how I know Clutchfans is mostly male and middle aged? There’s only two pages for the Barbie thread.
It opened against Oppenheimer which has more overall appeal to the general audience whereas Barbie is a bit more targeted. Here's my review (in response to Fantasma Negro's review Rate the last movie(s) you watched) from the movie thread: We both had negative opinions about it.
Didn't take long to get the incredibly insecure in their own manhood, cushony soft take from the incel right.
I looked at movie times for today....most good seats (not front row) are utterly sold out. Will the post-credits scene have her ex, GI Joe? I'm all in on the Barbiverse (sometime later this week). I do have to wonder why Ken is 45, has an asymmetrical face and is blonde.
was thinking about taking my little cousins who are like 8-9 to see this. are we the right target audience? we are 8-9,13.
Please tell me Aqua's song Barbie Girl is in the soundtrack or score. If it's not, it will be the reason I boycott and set dolls on fire.
