    My first NBA game I watched, on a portable color TV in Miami Florida, at 9 years of age, was Moses vs. Kansas City Kings playoff. So this takes me back. It was my end of the year soccer picnic where we got our trophies.

    And I just learned that the Rockets used to be in the Eastern Conference the year before, what...

    I am devastated...literally have tears running down my cheeks.

    My heart is pounding & chest is hurting...

    I still have his autographed sneaker in my room, on top of the book shelf.

    Rest In Peace Big Guy...

    Most underrated superstar in NBA history.

    Had a conversation with him once in the Rice Village (late 90s). Very reserved and didn't say much until I asked about his son. That's when he lit up and talked very proudly about Jr. playing at Friendswood H.S. He went on and on about all of the college scouts attending his games; he even mentioned the recruiting letters (by University) they were receiving. I just remember listening and thinking, "he'd rather gush over his son than tell old war stories of himself and the league's golden era."

    But that was Big Mo. Always more comfortable with the spotlight on others, and a true family man.

    Rest in peace, Big Fella.

    Got to meet him and shoot hoops a few times back in the early 90's, he even tried to teach us whiteboys a few post moves. Such a nice guy.

    Many thanks to y'all sharing these stories and referencing his incredible career too. He was the first Rocket I really fell for, and I had his biblical poster on my childhood wall like many of you did. It really is amazing to consider he won three MVPs in that particular era.

    He was frequently over 20% in TRB% and often over 15% in ORB%, which is just insane. All your rebound are belong to Moses.

    Rest in blessed peace, big man.

    Well like a bunch of you old guys, the news this morning was a surprise followed by some watering of the eyes. That man had serious game. You'll be missed, Moses.

    Sucks that you can be physically fit most of your life and still die at 60 from a heart attack. RIP Big fella.

    @ProHoopsHistory: 28,000+ points and 17,000+ rebounds

    Kareem, Wilt, and Moses. That's it.
