I meant to say for one playoff run, not series.

This might be our last chance to get something decent for Battier.
Battier's game is getting weaker by the game. :p

I rather keep Scola and part Landry. Scola is money in the Playoffs or pressure games. If we can trade Tmac for Iggy, then do it.

If Scola's part of a trade and the incoming player's another PF, you might be surprised when you find that the team really doesn't show much improvement.

I like Scola, hope he stays. Question about him & Cook, I know Scola is a restricted free agent and makes something like 3.2 million, Cook makes 3.5 million, is he also a restricted free agent or is he unrestricted? I would think that a unrestricted free agent would be more valuable in a trade, but then again it's Cook

I dont believe we are including any rotational players in a trade.Would he really write this long thing just because of losing Tmac and Cook? I dont think so. but....

if you include a rotational player(scola, landry, battier, hayes) + tmac you get a HUGE amount of salary to be matched. Simply going to trade checkers and other teams would have to include nearly a half a roster just to make it work. The only 2 teams Ive found that have what morey wants (expirings) to match up to tmac+rotational player would be NY or Bulls. But then again, why would you trade a productive player like that away without getting something in return?

And so, there is nothing in return from bulls or ny that is helpful unless they include a 1st round pick.

I tried the washington idea, and washington would be giving us about 6 players to equal 2 of ours(tmac/scola). With you factor in Les not wanting to pay lux tax,and future years, I dont see why washington would want to HAND us butler and also HELP us by taking battier's remaining contract off our books? Nothing is adding up to make both sides happy. I cant wait to see who gets traded and what we get back.

Why questioned the validity of this blog entry?

Scola wrote for sohu.com for years already (since Nov 2007). At the beginning he wrote in Spanish then later (since 2009 I believe) he wrote in English.

Scola has always been very genuine in his blog (he even posted his sons' photos in his blog) so does he in this entry. People from US where major sports events are all simply business can hardly recognised the passions and views of other sports fans from the rest of the world. Players' loyalty has always been weighted lowly. In our part of the world, players are often loyal to the club and fans are loyal to the players too. We don't "trade" players as a "commodity". Yao was upset when Francis, Mobley and Cato were traded. It's not hard to understand Scola's feelings since he is so involved in the trade rumour this time.

The very last paragraph of this entry is simply Scola's unique style of humour. If you follow his blog or the Chinese news about him long enough, you'd know Scola has his unique kind of humour.

I have to say, the blog is more educational than anything. I learned alot about Spanish sports.
He mentioned he could get a phone call in the morning and told that he's been trade to NY. I freaked out and thought he's really going to New York. Thank God he's not

I wonder if the poor guy here is Scola himself.

The thing I love this team so much is players genuinely liked to play for Rockets and no one wants to leave. I am not sure how the chemistry is built but when you have a core with players like Deke, Yao, Battier, Hayes and Scola, you have the 'good' band of brothers.

A lot of our players with the exception of Ariza and Brian Cook are very hard to get equal value because of other teams over payng other players. Scola isn't a $5 mil player but that's what we woulod get in return. Landry we get like $3 mil.

Maybe either the English interpretation helped...but this blog was written very well. I enjoyed reading it even though its a little lengthy, the way Scola gave insights into basketball not only in the NBA but in the Euro leagues as well were interesting. Also this blog could have been read and appreciated by someone who doesn't even follow basketball. Scola may look like a caveman but this blog leads me to believe he's an intelligent guy.

I think I trade will happen, but it seems that DM is very particular to what kind of trade will go happen, people on the forum seem to think that its clear that we're going to what till Tmac's contract expires, but as Scola wrote in his blog trades are a part of the game, and are usually what should be expected.

    1) The King's Cup thing sounds like fun

    2) It looks like Scola is the most likely to be traded :/

    3) In Morey We Trust

i don't think Scola fans have to worry. Teams looking to trade with Houston are after the younger players, not the vets. They want Landry, Brooks, Lowry, Budinger and probably Ariza.
