Here's the link. I hate to give the guy a hard time, but this cries out for it! http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=164766&page=1
I actually respect Air Langhi as a poster quite a bit. But Scola is exactly the type of player I would throw money at for an extension as soon as we could. The guy simply wins. He hasn't missed a game since getting here. He's started out games horribly so many times and then somehow someway finishes off with great performances. He's the kind of guy who walks backstage at a fashion show and just keeps on hitting on every smoking hot model until one of them says yes. The guy has no concept of the word quit. Gooden, on the other hand, has been a zero IQ player since he got drafted. I'm a firm believer that in the end, stupid players always find a way to help you lose. I hope Gooden stays with the spers for a long long time
Luis is my 2nd favorite Rocket behind Yao. I felt he was starting to lose some gas since Carl went out,but I'm sure glad that he proved me wrong.
Scola just updated his blog after the Spurs game. He is really proud of this team. Go Rockets! Link First of all, hello everybody in China. I'm really happy to be here again with you guys. It's a great day today. We beat San Antonio here in San Antonio. It's a game that gave us first position in our division. It's a huge team win for us. So we are really happy. Yao found me in our last 2 possessions. And I got the chance to score. It is not suprising. Because he is a good passer. It is on Yao. He got the ball and everybody went to him. It was really easy for me to score, just because he caught so much attention. I'm really happy. Ron played well too. Everybody had good games. Hopefully we can talk soon about another victory. Luis
Some Chinese shoe company needs to give Luis a contract. Yao should speak to Anta or Peak about getting him a deal. The Scola deal ranks up there with Gasol, Parish and Devan Harris as the most lopsided trades in NBA history. Scola may be the best player on the squad.
I myself said in the Spurs signing Gooden thread that its like them getting back Scola, based on similar career numbers. I'm not gonna hide, I said that Someone responded to me "NO ITS NOT" and I didnt dispute that cuz it wasnt about rating one player over the other. It was just to say how it was a good pickup for the Spurs. Interestingly, Scola based on numbers per 36 minutes hasnt had much improvement over last year. He's playing 5 more minutes a game. He's shooting better from the line (10% better, very good), and he's getting 1 more defensive rebound a game. Everything else is the same. Scola might have been more underrated last year considering. But he's been kicking butt post All-Star break thats for sure, better than his season numbers. Viva Scola indeed
Love Scola! He's gotta' bury that J all game long. Combine that with his slick repertoire in the post - gotta' love it! JVG with the solid joke about the All Argentinian Flopping team. Manu and Scola perfecting their flop technique all practice long. Hilarious.
Man love Scola, he really step up big tonight. Took advantage of the blazers double team on Yao. Hope keep this up for the rest of the series. Still can't believe we got this guy for a scrub like V-span.
Scola the far more consistent PF in the series 3 Games 16.7 pts on 59% 7.3 Rebs 2 asts Aldridge 15.7 pts on 44% 7.7 Rebs 2.3 Blks Apparently Scola was supposed to underperform but he's doing very well.
