i dont know if there is a thread about Scola but this guy deserves one. He comes to play EVERY night and hustles hard. I believe he is the most consistent player on the team and never takes a play off. The puts up double doubles and runs the floor. He is an underrated defensive player. I personally do not know why Scola isnt on the floor in the forth quarter more. Landry plays hard but if anything Scola has size and a better shot. Im not hating on Carl at all but if Scola was in last night i believe he would have took that shot in the end of the game or at least drove it in. Scola makes things happend. THANKS SPURS!!!!!!
This is a thread I can get behind...the guy busts his ass, and doesn't complain. I just wish the refs gave him his due. DD
He would have had a much better game last night if the refs would have woke the hell up and not gotten him into foul trouble. Scola and Landry are the best PF combo in the league but of course I am a little biased.
I don't think Scola is underrated defensively. He is what he is, and on average tends to give up about as much as he produces. It's certainly never from a lack of effort, and OP is right about how he seemingly never takes a single play off and always plays hard regardless of the situation. He has also been far and large this team's most durable player ever since he has been here (I don't think he has missed a single game to injury during his career with the Rockets). He certainly deserves some appreciation for that.
Scola plays hard every night. He is not the type of player that has to have plays called for him to be successful, but I do think RA should work some more offensive sets in for Scola. I think he could be more of a focal on offensive than he currently is.
Having a thread for Scola is long overdue. He's probably the only Rockets who has played at a high level all year long. He's been a great finisher, rebounder, and fits perfectly next to Yao. Only thing I wish is if he could block shots.
I don't know why he doesn't get the green light to post up. I really like his post up moves that i saw last year. He is so skilled that he can fool anyone in the post!
