Temple was at least capable of hitting some shots and taking it to the rack, Conroy looked way too tentative.

Why should he pay him the rest of the year? Lowry will be back in a week or two, and if we kept Temple, he would ride the pine with zero usage except in blowouts. It doesn't make sense to sign him for the rest of the year just because we need him until Lowry returns.

yes, Temple could have helped the rest of the year as insurance.

But honestly, even if you go that route.. if Brooks or Lowry goes down again, our playoff chances are kinda over anyway. It wouldn't matter if we replaced him with Temple or Conroy at that point for the rest of this season...either way, we'd be lottery-bound.

And if neither of them get hurt, then the 3rd PG doesn't play.

So yes, it was a money-saving move. But it was a calculated move--there was nothing to gain aside from the period between now and Lowry returning--whether or not Lowry or Brooks gets hurt again.

So is Temple going to be here playing against us tommorrow for the kings?? So he probably didn't even have to go anywhere, just stay in houston and put on a different uniform.

I don't know how you gauge effectiveness. Everytime I saw Lionel Richie out there, he was getting chewed up defensively.

A week or two? How many weeks are left in the season? Not many. The next 5 games are critical for making the playoffs, if the org is interested in that. If they're not, well then I guess this move makes more sense.

There are always guys on a roster that never play unless there's extenuating circumstances. At least Temple showed that he could in fact contribute when called upon. You can't say that about Jermaine Taylor, for example, who I assume makes quite a bit more than Temple would be making for the rest of the year.

That's too bad for the Rockets. I thought Temple was starting to show signs of being a good player that could be developed and deserved a longer look for the rest of the season.

Conroy has yet to show me those types of signs.

You're also drastically overvaluing Temple's influence, as if we'd lose a game because of him not being here. Really? Losing because Garrett Temple is not on the roster? I liked what he did too, but come on, really? Conroy will be serviceable enough until Lowry returns and we'll still have a roster spot for flexibility going forward. Brooks can easily play 40+ if it's not a back-to-back (which only Minnesota/Detroit is on Saturday/Sunday).

Really? Losing because of no Garrett Temple? Come on, now.

P.S. - There are about 6 weeks left in the season. Temple would only be useful for 30% of that at most.

I don't see the point of this, it's a waste of time and money. We know Morey won't sign these d-leaguers to an NBA contract. They can't handle it pro.

He didn't do well last time because he had jersey #12.

    Give a better number like EJ's #8.

I think a number of you are missing the point. This means Lowry is about to start playing again.

Conroy was who they liked better in the first place, hence why they signed him first. The only reason they signed Temple was because it was the All Star break and didn't want to waste Conroy's 2nd contract during it.

Most likely, they'll let Conroy go after this contract anyway since Lowry should be back.
