If Morey is so smart, then why is he letting season go down the sink. Trade AB, Hill, somebody. Get this team going, they are dead in the water. Only way this is smart is if they are going for a lottery pick

Morey is not going to panic, unlike the kids on this forum.

He may make a move, but it will be calculated and an informed decision over the knee jerk types that are brought up on this board....

At least for the most part.

Yea Evans isnt a guy I would jump through fires to get,

Great bball player, but is going to get franchise money and never be good enough to build around.

I see him in the Francis, Marbury mold.

That is true. Brooks stats are slightly hollow because he does not get to the FT line and make those stats knock out efficient. However, he can score the ball from anywhere, he can get his shot off from practically anywhere and he is a terrible mismatch for opposing teams to have to scheme against. And he so far has not displayed Evans disposition for totally dominating the basketball and thinking he has to make every play.

I wish 3 things for Brooks that will never be:

    1. I wish he would get to the FT line often.
    2. I wish he could play mediocre defense.
    3. I wish he could see the floor like Steve Nash, keep his dribble alive and punctuate his incredible shooting with the great nifty interior dribbling and passing that makes Nash unique.

Of course, if Brooks was all that.........we wouldn't be discussing trading him.

Brooks is what he is......but I would take him over Evans any day of the week and ten times on Sunday. Evans is absolutely terrible for an NBA team, terrible.

I hope we'll keep AB, and use his microwave two-guard talents as a sixth man. Cousins might mature, but he probably won't. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

I think they are going to try and tank. Last game Adelman said he was going to start playing the young guys, that usually is a sign of tanking.
The west is way to deep for us to make a comeback and sneak in the playoffs.
Face it, this season is over, Morey and the staff didn't predict Yao's impact to be as bad as it has been (especially chemistry wise). They didn't expect his new injury or Brooks' one.
Lets just accept that we need to hit the lotto-ville and try to get a high pick and not end up like teams such as the Bobcats, the Bucks or whatever who always suck but don't suck enough to draft a franchise player.

I'd rather be the future OKC Thunder than the Bucks or whatever.

Morey built a team around Yao because he knows the organization will never move him.He cant control injuries to two of our best players and the centerpiece of our offense.

Panic moves are made by bad organizations, not good ones. Trading anyone now doesnt make sense to try and salvage the season. If we are in the lottery, so be it, we have double the chances to get a top 3 pick and jump start rebuilding/reloading.

This is the exact same situation San Antonio was in when Robinson went down and they drafted Duncan. Did the make a bunch panic trades trying to be competitive that year, nope, they accepted what they were given and went on to become a powerhouse in the conference for 10+ years.

I am all for Brooks in a 6th man type role. Brooks is definitely a 30 mpg rotation piece on a championship contender. However, he may have more value to us in a trade. There are other Aaron Brooks/Jason Terrys in this league that can be acquired and if Brooks will help land us a Melo type talent, I think we should do it.

Evans for me, has the individual skill to be great, but until this day, he hasn´t shown any trust on his teamates, he ballhogs the ball like crazy....

I can´t make this crazy statements that he will never win, or he is cancerous, at such a young age, it is like people can´t change, man who knows what tomorrow will bring...

But I definitely agree, I would trade for Cousins 100x faster then I would for Evans based on what I see from both right now, knowing that we need to get out of Yao´s era quick, because we can´t let the China man go, without using his contract.

The won more than they lost because they started 20-13. They finished 22-29. The only way AB becomes part of a winning team is if he learns how to be a PG.

The problem is there is no Tim Duncan in this draft.

I could get behind that, but that would mean benching Hayes, Battier and Yao......for a lot of time....

    This is just silly.

He had to carry a team that was starting Hayes, Battier and Ariza.....

He is a fine PG...give him some guys to pass the ball too that also play some D, and he will be just fine.

And Aaron Brooks had absolutely nothing to do with that 20-13 start.

He was a key factor in the Rockets getting out of the first round whereas point guards such as Bob Sura, Rafer Alston, and Steve Francis could not.

First round pick with a young role player would be great for the rockets if we can trade Brooks, his trade value could be all time high since he got MIP. Do not know what Kings want to offer if they really want to win this year. I do not think the rockets can go anywhere this year, it is a time to think next year, Morey.

If I were the Kings, I would hoodwink any GM to take Evans off my hands. Whoever gets that guy will get the curse of mediocrity for years.

Cousins is a good gamble. But we already have a bunch of good bigs. Do we really want to get a semi-headcase to that mix?

Bottom line, the only thing I want from the Kings is high picks. We need a superstar to contend. It doesn't look very likely we can get one by trading. So high draft picks are our best chances.
