I agree that if we trade Brooks, we have to acquire a go to scorer that can get off his shot and create mismatches. The intriguing part of this deal for me is the possibility of using Brooks to get another draft pick to shovel to Denver for Melo. I'd do that deal. The problem in Sacramento is they are building wrong around Evans. They really should cut their losses and trade Tyreke while his value is still high because over the next couple years, his value is going to fall off the table. Check out this latest quote by Beno...... Late Monday night, a visibly upset Beno Udrih basically summarized what advance scouts (and many of his teammates) have been reporting about the Kings for weeks: "We're predictable. We don't make other teams work for anything, never attack from different sides of the floor. We don't move the ball. It's all one-on-one." Sacramento Bee That is a direct indictment on Evans. IF Sacramento is after Brooks, it is to basically play off the ball and shoot the J off Evans' move. That is no way to win in the NBA. Casspi, Hill, Kings first, 2011 pick swap, Battier.........could that net us Melo?
Morey knows what he is doing. If he thinks the Kings will offer 10 million and he doesnt intend to match, then he will move Brooks at the deadline. I can guarantee you he won't let players walk for nothing, he is just too savy for that.
I'd trade Brooks for Cousins or Evans in a heart beat. Evans and Cousins are both going to be better than Brooks.. the only thing AB has on both of them is experience... which is Evans and Cousins will eventually gain.
Exactly, and AB is mature unlike both Evans and Cousins, which seem to have maturity issues. You are taking a major risk by taking them on...Evans is not a Superstar in the making, maybe Cousins might be, but so far he is off to a rocky start. DD
How about Brooks+Hill+1st rounder for Udrih+Cousins? Udrih is decent and a real PG. If Cousins can play center then he's our replacement for Yao. This doesn't help us much this season but is better down the line. We probably don't have a shot for Melo...
Its like regurgitation all over clutchfans. DD wants to build around Aaron freaking Brooks. Brooks is good, but he is not that good what DD is making him out to be.
Can't agree with you about the Evans part. Not many players can average 20/5/5. Evans is better then Brooks and would make this team better. Evans is worth the risk because he's been able to produce.... Cousins on the other hand has shown some of the red flags that were put on him since the draft.
The same thing could be said about what AB was able to do last year. He put up numbers on a lottery team. Losing team or not... How many players have been able to put up 20/5/5? Go check out that list and get back with me.
Evans is one of, if not the, most overrated players in the NBA. He will never win. His teammates will always hate him. He is a selfish, one man gang, with maturity issues of his own. Repeat, he will never win in this league.
Yet somehow that team devoid of talent won more games than they lost. I agree AB is not a guy who will LEAD a team anywhere, but he can be part of a winning team. Evans...not so much...he is cancerous. DD
AB won last year, and was part of a winning team already.....again not the guy to be the BEST player on a championship team, but a good complimentary near all star piece. Evans is a chemistry nightmare...a ball hogging, JR Rider get your own over the team needs player. And you can't remember anything...lol...especially about basketball.... DD
