Oh I agree with that. But isn't that what they have in Evans. Seems kind of redundant to have 2 ball dominating PGs playing together. Evans seems like the type of player that no matter what position he is playing, will NEED the ball in his hands.
They don't give a ****. They've won 2 more rings since he make a couple of buckets and lost in a series 2 1/2 years ago. They probably forgot what AB looks like especially after Blake made him look he didn't know what defense was on national TV a month ago. STOP LIVING IN THE PAST! AB was the MIP player on a Lotto team.
If they do that then it is on Morey for not trying to extend Brooks. I know letting the market dictate allows you the freedom of not overpaying however it FORCES you to pay the market. I mean who knows how much Brooks would have signed an extension for.
To me AB is not overrated, no one ever said he was an elite PG, not me anyways, but he is a good scoring Guard but Evans has more potential.
I read many times that Cousins is the only player on that team that anyone of us would take. This is true, but i wouldn't touch him. He's a nut for real. Foul city. So, no deal.
I wouldn't fault Morey for not extending a player when the League is about to go into HEAVY negotiations and who knows what will come out of that.
I'm not really keen on becoming the lotto version of the Kings. We've got RA, KM, and BM already. We're going to need a creator off the dribble if we're giving up AB and the Kings don't have that. I definitely don't want Tyreke and Cousins scares me--he seems really immature and uncoachable.
As I said, it should be considered. I am not advocating to actually do the trade. I am just saying that no one else on the Kings roster would interest me in terms of a Brooks trade.
100% accurate, and a severe flaw in Morey's strategy to date. That being said they can always reach an extension like they did with Scola and not match the market and still have all the freedoms to trade etc, that they lack in the Lowry match. DD
As much as I bash AB for his defense, he is a starting caliber PGuard who averaged 20 ppg last year with a nice salary, if he gets moved I expect some valuable assets in return.
If Brooks is traded I'd like to see the Rockets add Daniel Gibson somehow as his replacement. I think with the same opportunities Gibson can be better than Brooks in Houston. Plus he's a better 3 point shooter for a team that shoots that many.
Definitely true. Also, Cousins was considered a problem child before the draft. Other points: As for the Kings signing AB in the off-season: first of all, why are they talking about trading for him now, then? FWIW, they only have $27 million in salaries next season. The cap is expected to come down, after the probable lockout. I believe we could get Cousins for AB and Hill. Not only is AB a potential borderline All-star, but Hill is looking like he will be an above-average big, and he is also still on his rookie contract. This is quite reasonable. We'd also get a $1.3 million TPE, but that's practically worthless - who do we want to sign for that much, besides another Dampier later in the season, or some very minor player next season. Dalembert: huge contract, but it expires after this season. So, we could re-trade him in February. Hardly makes sense, though, because we would have to throw a lot of salary into the deal to get him. This only helps if we have bad contracts, and we really don't, except maybe Lowry, whom we want to keep.
No way DM lets AB just walk, unless we let Yao walk, and are trying to get under the cap. This also assumes we throw salary at Melo, which would also drop our team salary if we can't re-sign Melo.
