I disagree ... I think Battier, Hayes, Scola, Yao, etc. would have a great impact on this kid. Sacramento is one of the youngest teams in the NBA. Who's main vets are Dalembert, Garcia and Udrih, so I'm not surprise they haven't been able to keep him in line. --RB
Not to mention the coaching staff. Adelman and Sikma, along with Turner could be a very positive influence on Cousins.
Yea Sikma looks like one of those corn fed dudes. He looks mean and squirly. Cousins needs that influence on him.
Perhapes Morey is thinking along the lines of pairing Cousins/Love. Let's take a look at the players he's been thinking about lately. Cousins - problems with coaching staff Love - not as untouchable as most think Iguodala - predicts he'll be traded Varejao - will be on the block if Cleveland keeps losing Perhapes he's looking along the lines to grabbing a star talent. Bosh - gone to Miami It's quite evident lately.
I just read that Carl was benched as well.. I really have no confidence in the Kings coaching staff... I think the Maloofs purposefully hired stupid people to run their team into the ground so they can move it. I didn't watch their last couple of games, but I had been watching them (they have such a fun young group) but Tyreke is the one they need to reign in, and instead they are letting him run rampant. Maybe we can get them to throw Carl back to us in whatever deal they make.
From what we know of Morey, he NEVER does what most expect him to do. We throw out all these names but watch Daryl go out and pick up a player we thought was untouchable...just how Daryl rolls.
I think DD's Eddie Griffin comparison is fairly apt. I just think Cousins has "he could have been great if he wasn't such an idiot" written all over him. If you recall, Griffin was easily the most talented player in the 2001 draft yet somehow "miraculously" fell to #7. I remember being very excited to get such an immense talent. But, alas, he completely imploded and was a bust as a Rocket. I see a similar future for Cousins and the Kings.
The only reason Landry was benched was because he missed most of the morning shootaround. It was purely disciplinary. Westphal was even quoted as saying that he likes Landry as the starter, and he wasn't even mad at Landry for being late ("broken alarm clock").
The Las Vegas Kings needs to happen... I'd love to watch that team of knuckleheads and misfits run wild in Sin City.
Kings made 2 roster moves tonight waived guard Antoine Wright and assigned Hassan Whiteside to the Reno Bighorns of the NBA Development League. Is this preperation for a up coming trade?
YES. <a href="http://giftube.com/"><img src="http://www.videobeta.net/gifs/20561.gif" alt=""></a><br/><a style="padding:3px;background: transparent;color:#00ADEF;font-family:tahoma;font-size:10px;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none;" href="http://giftube.com/" target="_blank">Gifs at Giftube.com </a>
You don't move Whiteside to the D-league if you're giving up a big for a point guard.. or a PG plus Patterson. Maybe if we're sending them a big that can play. Maybe AB plus Hayes for something other than Cousins..
