From DM perspective this is a easy situation.... Let´s assume, SAC really contacted us to know what we want for Brooks.... They were the one´s showing interest in Brooks, so DM would not back out, he would easily say, I wan´t cousins, nothing more.... And from there, Sac would evaluate what Cousins has done outside the court, the "problems" he has shown, and the trust they have that Whiteside can be a long term C player that can rebound and block shots..... but retaining the other young guys they have plus the 1st pick.... If you ask me, I think it is easier to bring Cousins then is to bring a 1st unprotected round pick out of a brooks trade, simply because they have Dalembert for the short run and whiteside for the long, and they keep that 1st round pick, that if you are a young team with holes it is crucial, and with luck you can land a top 3 pick.... My opinion is that DM doesn´t even mention the 1st round pick, he doesn't want that, he wants assets, real ones, not picks that can be a number 1 or a number 10, those picks are important, but if you can land someone that can compete with a Nets trade offer with Favors, you need a great young talent.. besides, a Cousins trade would make us so so so more flexible, because now we can get out of YAO era (if managements decides to) because we have NOW a legit Center in Cousins, or (if management decides not to get out of Yao´s era) trade Cousins for a big fish, making us almost front runners for every star in the league... This is my view on the Houston Rockets side of things, I don´t act like this is a done deal, this is what I think DM is thinking and demanding, because he was not the guy showing interest, they were, so we can act BIG, because if the trade doesn´t go down, they lose, because they really really want Brooks, we don´t NEED Cousins (although DM really really wants him, but shhh) PeAcE
Didn't see it on SI.com or RealGM, but it's probably there somewhere. The insidehoops thing is just citing the questionable SacBee report. In fact, anywhere that has posted this rumor has only cited the 1 questionable reporter. Questionable information being posted in multiple places doesn't make it more reliable.
Good-bye ABrooks... I will miss you so... The Yoa era is over.... The sub 6ft, no D, shoot first point gaurd era is over, too... I know if you stay we over pay... The memories of what should have been will be cherished... For that I thank you..
All RealGM does is link to other reports, so I'm sure theirs was linked to the original SacBee article. I doubt there's much to it right now.
AB and Jefferies for Cousins, Evans, 2011 first, right to swap first rounders in 2012, 2013 first. Cause they want AB SO BAD, and Jefferies is a solid veteran. They may have to throw in some second rounders also.
I agree.........people need to get off Loves nuttz. He is not the solution to any of our immediate problems,DEFENSE IS OUR PROBLEM...............IT IS WRITTEN.
Yeah, there will be alot of guards in this draft and some are absolute studs!!There are also alot of wing players coming out next year that might be tempting. I know for sure BUD is not the answer at SF. He is a kyle Korver/Rasual Butler( maybe) type of player. Collect bigs aNd draft well because this roster will not change much at all this year, whetheR we like it or not......IT IS WRITTEN.
Yeah I think we can do that. Looks like Lebron is unhappy in Miami, we can flip that package we get from Kings to deal for Lebron. Miami is going to have to throw in cash and draft pick considerations of course since we would be taking on that massive contract.
I'm still waiting for Ish Smith to have a break-out game. That's the only way I'm giving up Brooks, either that or they give us TE.
To make matters worse, I said months back how much they want him,but they're not giving any good players to get him. Why? They're going to offer brooks a contract a force morey to match 9-11m per yr deal.
You guys have to know, the Kings have a history of making trades that benefit them and making the other team look bad. Like trading Mitch Richmond for Chris Webber, Christie for Mobley, Peja for Artest. and then Artest for 2 first round picks. I still think the Rox gave up too much since Artest didn't want to be in Sac and was in the last year of his deal. But yeah, they are not giveing up Cousins for nothing. The only reason why they are going after Brooks his because his value is kind of low now because of the injury and how he was playing before the injury. They smelled blood and thought they can get him for cheap. My guess is they would of offered Thompson and a top 20 protected pick.
Uhmmmm.... RT @mr_jasonjones: DeMarcus Cousins was kicked out of practice today. Westphal didn't elaborate as to why He's a knucklehead but he would look good in Rox Communist Red. His stock might be low right now and if the Kings really like AB.... Brooks, Taylor and 2012 #1 for Cousins
