The Rockets had no intention of just 'giving' Ariza away to anyone. So trading him away for a trade exception was not going to happen. Ariza is still seen as a valuable asset and when was the last time Daryl Morey just gave away a valuable asset? No one could have forseen Ariza being traded away for equal or better talent at less than half the price. That is the part you are missing.
Make it a three way centered around Brooks going to Sac Town, Cousins going to Denver and Carmelo coming to Houston.

You could if for whatever reason the Kings wanted AB so badly enough that they had to have him in street clothes on their bench ASAP. No team is of course going to trade for an injured player unless they were just trading for his expiring contract.
No Caspi or Jasons thompsons. These are more role players only get starter potential players. Landry, Cousins, ??? Thats about it or a 1st draft pick. Thats the only way we should trade them Brooks. They want him and we can give them him. They are the buyer who has a need. We have what they want and can just keep it if we want to. So we need a starter potential player. Only Cousins really fits that mold or more draft picks.
And what about that turnover difference???? Brooks 1.9 Francis 3.5!!! People tend to forget that during Francis' first few years he really was a stud, and a guy you could build around. Sure, he had his problems, but you can't contribute those poor seasons to just him. BTW, BROOKS IS NOT THE PROBLEM, HE IS NOT EVEN PLAYING RIGHT NOW. AND HE IS VERY USEFUL IN THE 4TH QUARTER SINCE HES BASICALLY THE ONLY GUY ON THE TEAM THAT CAN GET HIS OWN SHOT!!!
Fans on the Kings board would love to get AB. It seems other team's fans defend Brooks more than people on this board. He is undervalued here. It seems Cousins is not a fan favorite over there though...
Simple case of the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. We will always b!tch and always complain it is just in our nature to do so. If we got Cousins we would probably have even more to gripe about. If we can't get another team involved in a trade then I say keep Aaron because the Kings have trash.
