Before they would make any such deal, they would make sure that Brooks would sign an extension. I am sure he would just to be reunited with his buddy Carl Landry... The Kings LOVE Brooks. They like Cousins, but the franchise player is Tyreke, and the two do not seem to be getting along off or on the court.
LOL! See this is the stuff im talking about.....where are all the fans that cried when Landry got traded???I dont see any thread of fans throwing his name out there!!Is he no longer wanted on your rockets team? How soon we forget what he ment to this team when we had him.....SMH! 1 round pick/Landry for Brooks....done. IT IS WRITTEN.
The problem with this is that we just signed Scola. Are we going to bench Scola in the 4th again? Or try playing them together?
Guys, Landry is an unrestricted free agent, if Morey wants him, he can get him for free in the offseason. DD
That's why we need time to judge Martin trade. Morey still has a lot chance to prove himself. So far, The result of the Martin trade is not looking well. If a major move can make a contender out of this Rockets team? This move alone is enough to change Morey's first name to God, we should forget about the minor Martin trade.... I will definitely trade away my any player who is old and on big contract if I am ranking at the last 3 places in the league. I don't know why you used "throw away". I prefer trades for picks and players with upside. It is nothing about the championship. It is about a team not even contending for the playoffs. It is about a team having totally 1 national TV appearance in two seasons. For such a team, the next major move will be : rebuilding or wait and see the moment that we will try to make decisions on rebuilding or not.
I agree. That seems to be the game plan tanking this season. Then a possible Brand/Pick draft day trade. What team would need Brooks for picks? Kings is one. What team would want Scola for a pick? Toronto? Cleveland? doubt it. What about New Jersey? Doubt it. Detroit? Possible. Bobcats? Possible. Phoenix? Possible. Just speculating. Doubt Scola goes any where. Doubt Martin goes any where. Bottom line is if this team is to aquire a 'superstar' trading for one ain't going to happen, they'll need to draft one.
There are no moves out there unless Morey is suddenly allowed to trade Yao and/or take on salary. It's painfully clear that Morey's orders from Les are to stay under the luxury tax. What potential moves are out there? I can't see really see any that would make us a top tier team. Do we somehow trade for Baron Davis' corpse, reunite him with SJax, and then somehow get Iggy while keeping Yao, Scola, and a little of our depth? Outside of that I can't think of much talent being pried loose.
Cleveland and Toronto have big fat TE's possibly we unload salary for their draft picks. Cleveland has a fat TE from LeBron deal and Toronto with Bosh. If they were to move under then Lowry/Scola would be the pieces.
So we are trading Yao for picks and trade exception? I don't think they would want Martin for a TE and picks.
If we can get 2 1st's for Scola and Brooks, I say do IF their not too badly protected. Id do Yao for a 1st and a player or two if the team were my only concern
