From Kings' point of view, those are stealing for them because they unloaded veterans for cap space and picks. From Rockets' point of view, they got the player trying to help them win.... Artest worked well at the price of 2 1st round picks. Martin is not working so far. ... If Rockets could not win anything with Martin and his big contract, that trade is a bad one.
But where have those ideas led them? Are they anywhere different than before they made those trades with the Rockets?
Perhaps Brooks and Patterson for Cousins straight up? Cousins, although a knucklehead, is going to be an extremely efficient scoring center. Not to mention his defensive presence.
Im all for it happening I like Cousins a lot. It just seems a little wishful meaning kings see us with blood in the water (3-10)so they have the upper hand but then again in "Morey We Trust" so hopefully it gets done
So if I sold you a bag of "magic beans" for $1,000, but you REALLY valued magic beans, would you then say that you "stole" them from me? Also, by your rationale, it was a mistake for Miami to sign Lebron, since they are not winning at an appropriate clip. Kevin Martin is not the reason the Rockets are playing so poorly. Sure, his sub-par defense is one contributing factor. But without his offense, the Rockets would be lucky to even have 3 wins so far and would be getting blown out in the process (instead of being in every game except for 2 so far). Trading Luis Scola's backup (allowing Scola to play more minutes) in exchange for a top-10 scorer in the league at a position of need is a no-brainer to me.
I like this rotation moving forward into the future. Cousins/Kanter/Hill could be very solid and productive. They need to move Miller/Scola and let Yao retire his body just can't hold up unless they resign him for cheap. But a guy his size will get paid period. AND decisions, decisions i'd hate to move Scola guys a beast this season, but have to make decisions at some point.
I don't want to read 12 pages. Im assuming some journalistic rumor followed by Multi-pages of what ifs and trade proposals, but no real news anywhere, correct?
Then Bobby Jackson and Jason Terry are PG's. "Point Guard" Was coined when Bob Cousy came into the league(They were all considered just "guards" at the time), because of his pass first style. Magic later rekindled the "Point Guard" label... Brooks is a guard. NOT a "Point Guard"... This isn't fantasy basketball, and the old school hoops in me says that a PG should be running the offense, and should be a pass first player. You get your teammates involved, and they all of a sudden start playing better defense, showing better attitude, and consistently running the floor. Tempo, tempo, tempo...
Rockets fans, "we're getting a top 5 pick for Aaron Brooks!" Kings fans: "we're getting a MIP for Jason Thompson!" Just because Kings inquired about Brooks doesn't mean they've made us any serious offers. Rumors have been heard that they're trying to get rid of Jason Thompson because they already have enough young bigs. They probably just offered us something like Thompson for AB and of course Morey politely declined. No real news.
We'll just have to agree to disagree. I don't think his role is not to pass. He's just a score-first PG.
It was a no-brainer if Rockets are still in win-now mode. now, why do you need Martin and his contract while your team are this bad?
Well i'd hate to say it, but true. This team ain't going any where with a team built around Yao Ming - a player who can't stay on the basketball court.
Brooks for Cousins I would do in a second, are you serious, for Cousins! That's a deal that when you go to the table you hope the other GM is on something and as soon as he agrees you accept without hesitation and try not to giggle on the way out.
