He did, as did everyone else including the injury bug that took us out of play-off contention. Sound familiar?? The team as assembled was solid but had very little margin for injuries. Which started to hit them towards the end of the year.

The kings aren't offering anything of value for brooks because they will make a play at the end of the year and force morey's hand. Personally, if the kings are trying to just get better and want to get a player, the rockets ought to offer scola for thompson and casspi. I don't really like the thought of dealing luis and the kings turned that down last year because of his age, but a degree of professionalism might be what cousins and crew needs. The rockets need youth, size, and athleticism.

I had brought up a Troy Murphy for Scola deal a few days ago for the sole purpose of opening up cap room. I like your idea better, Scola can help mentor the young guy and re-create Scolandry in Sac Town. Rox get two young, talented pieces to help in the rebuilding process or to be moved down the road.

    For the Fans of +/-...

Luther Head plays 33% of the Kings' available minutes...his +/- is +15.5.

    Luther is 2nd only to...

Donte Greene who plays 17% of the Kings' available minutes...his +/- is +17.2.

    By contrast...

Carl Landry plays 64% of the Kings' available minutes. His +/- is 4th from the bottom at -18.3.

    Changing subjects...

I'm not a huge fan of any of the following players. But if the Rockets...or more specifically Morey...are all that convinced on DeMarcus Cousins...Brooks + Battier for Cousins and Beno Udrih is close capwise. Essentially, your taking 2 years of Udrih for $~8M per to get the #5 pick in the 2010 Draft.

UPDATE: The Kings only have ~$27M committed for whenever the 2011-12 season begins. Battier expiring takes that down to ~$20M. The new CBA could benefit a team with this cap situation.

I say we treat this as our second shot at Cousins and be willing to pay a large price for him.

Brooks+Choice of Patterson or Hill+Budinger+2012 first rounder would be where I would start.

i think there is a tendency to undervalue our players on this board. those with short memories , Aaron Brooks was key to force the Lakers to that hard fouvht 7series games. We overcame the absence of Yao, the pathetic shooting of Artest, mainly because of Aaron Brooks ability to score the basketball. Sadly, when D Rose came to town last week to torture the Rockets almost everyone was praising his scoring prowess. I'll say no to this trade

The Kings forgot to do their scouting on Brooks.

He is not a "conventional" point guard. If they expect him to come in and make slick passes to Tyreke, Cousins, Landry, etc., they will be sorely disappointed. But if they want more scoring, they will be happy.

Cousins is probably the only guy we're really interested in, and no way they give him up for Brooks.

I get this feeling Sacramento is really after Brooks hard and will dangle Cousins and it will go down. So the pros and cons. The pros is we rebuild around a future Yao replacement and tank this season. We draft a replacement in Brooks as some suggested. The Cons is chemistry issues. Adelman has always been good at handling those kind/types of players in the past. I can't think of many cons this is why i feel something like this will go down. Also they have Whiteside waiting in the wings who will be solid possibly and can afford the Brooks-Cousins swap a player Morey had coveted since draft day. I like the idea, but i would't move Brooks for nobody else. What would happen is vets will be moved and they'll take on expirings/cap space and rebuild/retool/reload through FA and the draft which is smart. I still think the team should draft Kanter to go with Cousins that would be the beginning of rebuilding our front line. Players like Brooks can be easily replaced imo.

Convetion point guard. See I hate labelling point guards. Can Aaron Brooks be just another poit guard. Please honestly answer this ,is Aaron Brooks game resembles AI or Tony Parker? To me he is more of Tony Parker point guard than AI.

I once said from day one his rookie season that Brooks resembles more of Terrell Brandon then anything. Both came out of Oregon.

The myth that Brooks isnt a PG needs to die.

It makes our fanbase sound ignorant.

    What?

So, if you give the guy Kobe Bryant to pass the ball to, they would still suck, or if you give the guy Dwight Howard they would still suck.

Give him some stinking help....you don't toss away your better players, you add even BETTER ones to them.....

    Unreal....SHEESH

I don't see this happening. The only thing they have I'd consider trading Brooks for is Evans, and they won't go that far. I just don't see a match between these two teams. If they get Brooks without giving up Evans they are going to be a flat out solid team and any draft pick they give up may not even be a lottery pick, so there's no way I'd give up Brooks for a future 1st.
