thats a damn good question....part of my reasoning for starting this thread. The dude BLOWS ASS and sometime, hopefully sooner rather then later, JVG will realize it and play Luther at the 1 more.

21-5 run in the 4th has to be the coaches fault. You need to change things up if you see this happen. Especially if it's the 3rd game in a row.

I'm telling you now, I've always hated JVG. I know I always will. Same goes for Rafer.

my point exactly....if its broke (i'd call a 8-0 run at the end of the 4th), fix it!!

It is completely beyond logic why JVG doesn't pull rafer out of games like this. Are the Rox backup PGs so bad that Rafer is the only option???? If so, then there better be a deal soon to get a serviceable PG or else the Rox risk suffering the biggest collapse in regular season history. PG is by far, by FAR our weakest position!

If it's the first time I've seen it, then sure, it's not his fault. How many times in the past 3 years have we seen something like this happen?

And even if we won, I would still complain, like I always do.

When things arent working, you mix and match. try Tracy at the point, put Bonzi at the SF position. try anything. it cant be worse then letting rafer run this team into the ground. gundy and he's personal dislike for bonzi are starting to take it's toll on our win loss cloumn now. it's no coincidence when bonzi was playing, we looked darn good tonight.

Just wait till we beat SA on Wednesday. I'm on your side, but this is the way things work. I have nobody else to blame but JVG.

Maybe if Rafer made his shots and Tmac made his layups, its a different story. But it ultimately comes back to the coach. You need to sit Rafer down and tell him to stop shooting godamnit. It's so simple, I don't know what JVG does all day?

Bonzi was doin good, Rafer was doin bad. So bench Bonzi and keep Rafer in?

    We had this game.

Unfortunately Bonzi can't play point guard. Someone has to man that spot and unfortunately it still falls on Rafer.

I'll say it for the umpteenth - No issues with Rafer's all around game. The guy simply cannot make 2 POINTERS. His 3 pt average is acceptable (36.1%). If he were to get his overall percentage to 41-42% Rafer bashing would be minimum. He just can't and never has made shots and we see on this team how a poor shooter can affect the outcome...Either Rafer lessen his shots or the coach lessen his minutes, straight up.

When the facts are distorted to the point of no return, it's pointless to even take part in the debate.

    From bplld---
Bonzi is still not in shape. He was visibly gassed....still a positive game for him.

Battier can run the point. At least thats what was said when we traded for him. He can play 4 positions right?

Battier dosent have the skills to run the Point. however tracy does. it also allows bonzi to play extented minutes when he gets in better shape.

IT's not just limited time JVG gave to Bonzi. Poor Bonzi looked scared on the court, He knew he would be taken out anytime by JVG did not matter how he was playing. Basically he was playing on the cold wing, T-mac on the hot wing. Anyway He found a way to contribute, He picked a few offense rebound and put them in , including JVG loved tear drop miss, or he might stay at the cold wing with the cold hand for those limited minitues JVG gave to him. Wake Up, JVG, cut Rafer, play bonzi, or you will go next year.

JVG won't do it...he loves how Rafer manages the tempo of the game.

IMHO, the best thing that could happen to the Rockets is Rafer gets a virus or something minor for about 2 -3 weeks and forces JVG to look at alternatives.

That's amazing that you can actually read minds. Wow.

I will say that I think JVG should have subbed Bonzi in in OT. We did need a boost.

Did you ever see Bonzi looked so cute at court when he was in the king and played Spur? ;)

He could have put Bonzi back in later on.

The best excuse anyone has for Rafer is there is no one better to play the point. If rafer gets to live like that, you think he will ever try to learn from his mistakes, a la Ryan Bowen. Nothing gives him the right to take 25 shots when he only makes 5.

I think the emphasis was that on occasion SB can defend 1's. Certainly not all of them. He has decent open court dribbling skills but I don't think he can handle defensive pressure from many 1's.
