Can we let this thread die the natural death it deserves?

The thread title is correct: JVG is to blame for having the elite defensive team in the league poised to make some noise in this year's playoffs.

Bonzi has the ability to post up guys and drive them back to the hoop for layups or 4 foot jumpshots. He is extrememly strong. Snyder can't do that yet. Snyder isn't bad but we don't really need him right now...not saying we won't in the future and I do agree he should get some PT with Bonzi/Yao out.

Not true at all. Hayes is the perfect player when Yao as in, which is why he started when Yao was healthy. We need a player that will hustle, get rebounds, play defense and not demand the ball, who at the same time cuts to the hoop when Yao gets doubled. Juwan is perfect for bench scoring, as we don't need his offense with Yao/Tmac on the court. Also, I think this season has pretty much proven that Battier, in most cases, will not play the 4 because he isn't bulky enough. Howard is better than Hayes, but with Yao back he is perfect to come off the bench with Luther to give us some points.

Wells is like 6'4. Not a good matchup against Marion/Dirk. Plus Battier needs to rest at some point in a game...

    that's good :D

    blakekoen2,

no, no, no...I'm not saying Bonzi would be guarding Dirk. When Dallas goes small Dirk plays the 5. Howard can play the 5 for us, and let any combo of McGrady, Battier, Wells, Snyder, Rafer, Head play the other 4 spots. I'd just like to see how we would do with a line-up like that.

    Maybe something like:
    1) McGrady (Stackhouse)
    2) Head/Snyder (Terry/Harris)
    3) Wells (George)
    4) Battier (Howard)
    5) Howard (Dirk)

I am not going to sign a petition just because someone's opinion differs from mine, or anyone elses.

EDC has a right to his opinion, and he has a right to be wrong as well.

Dadakota, you're just afraid that someone's gonna create a 'Dada is a tool' petition and the list might be twice as long as the edc one. :p

I am certain that it would be a HUGE list....massive....as I am not afraid to post my opinions whether they are popular or not.

Being right almost all the time is a hard tough burden, but it is one I am willing to carry.

if it were only just the differing opinions. it's really the annoying habit he has of side stepping the issues and repeatedly bringing up non-issues when he is shown to be wrong. denial aint just a river in egypt for edc.

I think edc is a victim of OCD in relating to the usage of "we" and also in regards to JVG and his crappy offensive sets.

Sounds like Mike D'antoni needs to be fired, yes? D'antoni's offense sucks without Nash, right?

Sounds like certain JVG-haters' arguments on why JVG sucks because his offense depends on Tmac.

In my opinion, with Yao , Tmac and good role players this season, if JVG can't win a championship, I'd say he is to blame.
    A championship explains everything.

Well, I hope that the President has his toungue firmly planted in his cheek when he says it, as I certainly did when I wrote it.

Yeah, actually he is to blame if Yao, Tmac and good role players do not win championship 5 times in a row.
