I blame JVG for tonight's win. It puts us one more game away from the Greg Oden sweepstakes after Yao's injury.
Pretty good game last night...Mac couldnt be stopped which is always a good thing. Nice to see Rafer shoot almost 50% from the field.
I wish he had more than 7-8 good players to play with. People forget that Snyder, Bonzi, Head, and a little of Mutombo/Howard were all getting (or going to get) playing time before injuries hit this team. That's 10 deep right there... and its still not possible to give all 10 guys meaningful minutes for a team in contention (which is why Mutombo and Howard both got several DNP's). I think a big reason why we don't go too deep right now is because we're playing a lot of close games. We win close, and we lose close. A lot of the "elite" teams are allowed to empty their benches in blowouts. Over the course of a season, a 10th,11th,12th man will get more PT from games in blowouts than actual rotation minutes.
Most teams only have a 7-8 man rotation. Check the history for yourself and you will find that most games are won or lost by 5 or less points. very few games are really blowouts. if you see a win by like 10 points many times its just free throws at the end or a couple of turnovers and a resulting fast break basket at the end of games. but you are correct in saying that scrubs get more minutes in blowouts, they just don't happen very often.
that game was won by T-Mac you moron. 7 points in like 3 minutes when he came in in the 4th and the game was definitely in reach for the Spurs. T-Mac won the game...cause they nearly blew it until he came in.
that's rich.... ps - learn to spell. pps - i blame JVG for the win wed. night. i can see you dont know the meaning of the word humility.... you ever stop to wonder just how tmac was able to take over at the end? did you? let me tell you.... it was because JVG let him rest on the bench for an extended period of time in the 3rd and 4th, thus keeping him fresh and primed to come in late and seal the game. you see how that works? i eagerly await your oh-so clever response.
Are you seriously going to give JVG credit for that? EVERY coach rests their players through out a game captain obvious! We didnt need McGrady early in the 4th because we had like a 12-13 point lead...no sense in leaving McGrady out there because you know he'll eventually need rest and the the Spurs were going to make a run....some idiot like you could have made that decision.
Please look up my thread examining the rotations and % mpg by some of the top teams. JVG is near the top even with Tmac and Yao missing major minutes - 90%+. The Suns are even more extreme in concentrating mpg in their top 7 than jvg, at 93%. Phil Jackson is at the other end playing everyone and his primary rotation players only playing 79%. As one commentor on the net said - PJ has always worked to prepare all 12 players for roles both during the season and in the playoffs. He uses every weapon he has when he needs it.
This thread smells like my dogs fart. But wait...my dogs fart smells kinda good. So it don't smell like my dogs fart.
I'm booking it. But what would be really cool to book is JVG taking a dump on oldmanrock and edc's face. I guess, you know what, to win the COTY award, he would be kinda doing that. Can't wait.
just wondering, can anyone tell me why this thread has fallen to the page 3? anyone? i mean, isnt' there something JVG needs blame for?
