Jordan: 'I could have scored 100 points' in today's NBA

Of course, you are trying to say 104 points in the old days isn't equivalent to 104 points today. And you find that ridiculous yourself.

 

You're placing far too much emphasis on pace and averages (remember, we're talking about outliers) and not nearly enough emphasis on league rules and caliber of opponents.

In that 86-87 season, the Bulls had a pace of 95.8 possessions per game. The league average last season was 92.7. That's a 3 possession difference. Let's not make mountains out of molehills.

I previously quoted Stu Jackson, NBA VP of Basketball Operations, from an interview in 2007. You never responded to it so I'll quote it again.

So in other words, this era's rule changes were intended to benefit players who penetrate and move without the basketball. Jordan was the epitome of such a player yet you don't think his numbers would improve in this era?

What if a prime Jordan were on the Warriors last night? He would've been single covered all night long and would've gone right by Martin/Battier/Lee towards a rim protected by Chuck Hayes. Had he wanted to and had his teammates facilitated it, you don't think Jordan could've gotten a 100?

 

He's right. Michael Jordan is the GOAT. Today's NBA is so wussified. Breathing on someone is a foul.

 

Jordan can drop 200 on us if for our weak ass backcourt and Battier who let ellis GO 18-24 shooting and a 6'6 center defending the middle, along with a non-existant on defense at the 4 spot.

 

Seriously. If freaking Monta Ellis can get near 50, how many damn points could Jordan score on us If he really wanted to?

As a Chinese, I commiserate with goodbug for being unkindly and perhaps unjustly ridiculed for his writing. You guys shouldn't do it.

I dont think anyone would have ridiculed him for his writing if he hadnt been bragging about his published papers and other writing accomplishments.
